Stuck in the middle

chapter 6:what?!

I set my bag down by the door as i slipped off my shoes along on with it, "what happened sweetheart?" i look up at my mum "i don't know i had a headache all morning and then next thing i know i wake up in the nurse's office" i say exhaling a breath. she nods and walks over to place a hand over my forehead, "kenz you have a high temperature you need rest" she insists, "okay mum ill try" i respond surrendering, she pulls me into a tight hug i rest my head on her chest as she lays her chin on top of my head. "thank you ma" i say quietly, "its okay my baby" she smiles, "remember kenz get some rest" she laughs i smile in return "yes ma i will" i turn around and walk up the stairs. I'm so lucky to have my mum i don't know where i would be without her, she's my best friend she's done so much much for me more than my dad ever did. she's so strong and independent i hope one day she finds the love of her life because she deserves it more than anyone.

I crack open my door enough for me to slide through closing it after me, i sigh untensing my shoulders as i get a ping from my phone reading

jasmine: kenz that's completely fine don't stress over it i hope you get well soon, i'll visit you after school okay and it's the weekend so if you want we can have a girls night x

i smiled she's so sweet

kenzie: thank you jas and of course yes that would be great round mine or yours?

she's such an amazing friend, i'm sure my mum wouldn't mind me staying at jas's but i don't really want to leave her alone.

jasmine: i can come pick you up and we can go to mine? unfortunately i have to stay at home with my brother because my parents are away at a conference meeting, and my brother being the shit he is manages to always bring a girl round and my parents found out so x

i laugh to myself at what she had responded with even though i didn't know her brother i could tell he was like every other  typical fboy.

kenzie: okay see you later then jas x

jasmine: see you soon kenz and get some rest before i come x

she's just like my mum, they would get along so well i smiled and placed my phone on my desk, and walked over to my mirror the sky had already started to go dark and the sun began to set which was new to me because it wasn't even the evening and its gradually started to go dark and where i used to live the sun used to set really late. however i wasn't complaining because it would be easier for me to sleep. i stood in front of my mirror for ten minutes examining my bandage debating whether to take it off i decide to keep it on just incase. i walk over to my night stand and take out my hoops and place them next to my lamp, then i here a clang from behind me, i jump out of my skin i swirl around to face my window but nothing there except my curtain waving aggressively i go to walk over to my window when i feel two hands grab onto my waist, i gasp in shock, i then feel their breathe travel to my ear as they whisper "would you like to tell me what kind of danger you've been in cutie?" they say quietly, my throat has suddenly became blocked as my cheeks flushed making me hot and sweat begin to form in my cleavage."i-its nothing i-important Zane" i say stuttering more than ever. He then chuckles bringing his mouth away from my ear making my relax a bit "awh how did you guess?" he grins turning me around to face him, i push away but he seems to have gripped on well, he realises my struggling and laughs. "I'm sorry Hermosa" he lets go i step back a little, leaving space in between us. "what? I knew it was you because one your the only one who's obsessed with me to climb through my window all the damn time and two i know you saw the bandage earlier" i confidently respond.

i'm still hot and flustered and i don't know if its obvious but something gives it off cause he looks me up and down and then sets his eyes on my neck which a thin layer of sweat  coated it all the way down to my cleavage. He lifted his eyes quickly back up to mine and smirked again, "do i make you nervous princess?" he laughed i shake my head quickly "pfft nervous of you! in your dreams" i give a cheeky smile. He notices and steps closer i back up but hit my back on the window ledge, he comes closer "don't tease me little lady" he grins down at me, "mhhh sure whatever Mr bossy"  say hitting on his chest lightly, he smiles, "well fortunately that would make you Mrs bossy" he says almost in a whisper. My jaw drops a little before replying "nope zane not happening only in your fantasies" i say pushing a little space in between us. i sit on my bed and rub my head. "Hey you alright?" he asks in confusion i look at him standing in front of me "yeah just a little sore i need to rest" i say my voice becoming faint. He nods "of course Hermosa here's my number text me if anything's wrong I'll let you rest now" he says delicately placing the note on my night stand, he goes to walk to my window when something unexpectedly leaves my mind and exits through my mouth, "no wait can you stay with me" I'm looking at my fingers as i say it i feel his body turn around and his eyes lay on me, i lift my head so my eyes meet his. "of course doll" a grin creeps onto his lips i giggle, "thank you i don't want to be alone" i shyly say as he lays down next to me in my bed. I lay on my side facing the opposite direction as he wraps his long arms around my waist pulling me back towards him, i lay my head on the pillow and he rests his head on my shoulder." goodnight Hermosa" he says as a whisper and that's when i realized jasmine ,"Zane i forgot I'm going to jas's to have a girls night can u wake me in two hours please" i plead almost begging. i feel him nod "yes i will" his voice softly pronounces as every word rolled of his tongue it made me want to fall into a deep sleep, and soon enough all of the heat and comfort seeped into tiredness and i fell asleep straight away in his arms.

i wake up to being tapped lightly on the arm by Zane he's rubbing his sleepy eyes and i do the same, i sit up right and somehow i managed to lay onto his lap he obviously doesn't care because he doesn't make an attempt to get me off but instead raps his arms arms around my waist, "good nap beautiful?" he speaks with a smirk printed on his lips, i smile and shake my head "how many names are you going to call me and yeah i actually did thank you I'm feeling better". he looks at me and chuckles "you'll have to find out, I'm glad" he whispers resting his chin on my shoulder. i get out from his grip and stand to retrieve my phone that's on my desk, he watches me silently and doesn't say a word until i stand in front of him. "oh yeah jasmine sorry ill go now "he speaks in realization, "yeah thank you for staying Zane" i say politely, before he gets out of the window he faces me once more "anytime Hermosa we should do this more often it was fun" he winks and climbs and i close the windows after him.
