Previously...

It was me and her, fighting for Mikey now.

Mikey's POV

my foot tapped to the counts and slid over.

The sweat rolled off my face like rain drops on a window and I wiped them away quickly, the music restarting, the beat pulsing.

I was a mess.

The party is in full swing here on America's best dance crew, Season of the Superstars.

I slid across the floor my feet moving and my arms swung to the beat.

We're making history here with the youngest crew ever.

My arms were tired but everytime I swung all the passion and loved forced the tiredness out of the way.

These wonder kid dancers from New Jersey have come to prove that no matter the age, they can still rip up the stage.

It's like I was flying and the music was the air.

I finished, slamming on to the ground.

I breathed heavily, my chest rising and falling. Memories of failing on national tv suprisingly compared with how i felt about failing with Ciana.

I crawled over to the mirror, sitting up against it- letting my breath even out. I grabbed my phone out of the speaker, picking up my bag and heading out of the dance studio.

I pushed the glass door open when my phone started ringing. I didn't bother looking at the caller ID, knowing it wouldn't be the voice I wanted to hear.

"Mikey here." I stated faltly. I heard the light breathing on the other line. It sounded familiar. The way she used to breathe when she laid on my chest.

"Ciana?" I asked quietly.

She sniffled and my heart broke, "I just- I just wanted to hear your voice." She stuttered.

I walked outside, sitting on the curb. We sat there just listening to each other breathe.

"Would you maybe- um, want to see a movie tonight or something?" I said nervously, I've never been this nervous talking to Ciana.

"Mikey I don't know if that's-" She started.

"You don't have to talk to me or anything." She chuckled and sighed before agreeing.

We said our goodbyes and I clicked the hang up button on my phone. And for the first time in weeks, the sides of my mouth twitched up.

^^ At movie theater lobby^^

I tapped my foot nervously, checking my watch for the billionth time, fiddling with the tickets I already bought. What if she didn't show?

I felt my shoulder being tapped and turned to see her. Her hazel eyes outlined in black with the makeup she didn't need. An awkward silence filled the space between us.

"Shall we?" I said. She nodded. Minutes later we were in our seats and the movie was starting.

The movie played and I kept glancing at Ciana, watching the lights dance across her face. I don't even remember what the plot of the movie was supposed to be because in all honestly, she was all I wanted to see.

At one particular part I just stared at her, my heart filled as I looked at her jaw move slightly from chewing the popcorn we had previously bought. She laughed slightly at something one of the actors said and for the second time today, the corners of my mouth rebelled what they had been avoiding all week, a smile.
