"Hello?" Crystal yelled. "Anyone there? Whatever 'there' is?"
Crystal looked around at the new and colorful place she was in.
There was a sparkling blue ocean to her right and smooth cobblestone steps to her left, and beyond that were magnificent stone buildings. Suddenly, a woman with bright pink hair dressed in armor confidently walked along the road being followed by two girls in white dresses and behind them were soldiers.
Crystal saw no one else to ask, so she shook her fear away and walked to the pink-haired woman with her chin high.
"Excuse me?"
Crystal bravely stood in front of the woman as she stopped all the people behind here.
"Do y-you know where this place is? M-ma'am?" Crystal asked nervously. This woman radiated power, but when Crystal met that woman's eyes, her expression softened.
That woman saw a confused young girl who was obviously scared of the place surrounding her. In a way, she felt for Crystal, familiarizing herself with those feelings of fright.
"Are you lost, my dear?"
Crystal nodded.
"Walk straight into that alleyway. There'll be an inn at the end you can safely rest in. Tell the man in the inn that the Seredine sent you, okay?"
One of the girls in white dresses gasped. "But, Your Grace, you never give your actual na-"
"It's fine, Tamira." The woman turned to Crystal.
"Thank you," Crystal replied.
Then Crystal was off. The alley was between a marble painted church and a school building. At the end, Crystal saw an inn with a purple-haired gentleman talking to the doorman.
Oh no, should I still go? This might not be the best time. But, maybe one of them is the caretaker or someone like Serendine said.
As Crystal came closer to the inn, she got a better look at the purple-haired man...or no, maybe a young boy. His hair was vibrant and bright, like a bold statement provoking the rest of the world. His clothing reminded her of a seafarer, or more accurately a pirate. He had a curved sword attached to his belt. The closer she got, the more detailed his features became. That purple-haired man had golden eyes, like the sun was found in a mine and embedded into his iris.
The doorman had midnight black hair and dark brown eyes, dark and cruel. It almost made Crystal turn around.
As she walked to the entrance of the inn, she was stopped by the doorman.
"What is your business here? I'm sorry but this entire inn is reserved," the doorman said coldly.
The purple-haired man snorted disbelievingly.
"I..umm," Remember what that woman said," Serendine let me come here."
The doorman's dark and cruel eyes widened into embarrassment and his face flushed.
"Oh, oh no, come in," he said nervously. "Come on in, come, come , come in."
Crystal smiled. "Thank you."
She walked through the door, while hearing the purple-haired man yelling "Wait, let me come in too!"
The doorman kept arguing with him even when Crystal walked through the door.
"You can go into any room on this floor!" The doorman shouted as he was fending off the purple-haired man.
Crystal nodded and walked to the sixth room down the right hall. Inside was a beautiful wooden bed with soft white sheets and blankets, a few drawers and cabinets, and a small candle lamp next to the bed. There was also a mirror, where Crystal looked to fix her disheveled caramel hair. In the low light, her blue eyes looked like extra bright.
"Wow, this is pretty nice," Crystal said. She gently fell into the comfortable bed and started to drift into sleep.
But then, a loud rumble came from her stomach. Crystal groaned and rose from her bed.
"Food first. Maybe I can go exploring afterwards or something."
After a little snack, Crystal left the inn to take a walk outside.
She walked out of the inn and followed the alley's path. As she got closer to the port, she saw a large crowd of people, soldiers and civilians.
Crystal ran to the crowd and slowly edged to the center. "Excuse me, I'm sorry. Oh! Excuse me, I'm sorry. Please excuse me. Sorry!" She must have apologized over a hundred times before seeing what was happening.
It was that man, who was...fighting Serendine? She was angrily swinging a sword at him, but he was dodging her blows with ease.
"It's you!" Crystal exclaimed.
Both of them turned towards her with wide eyes and confused faces. Serendine's face softened almost immediately. She turned to face Crystal, but the man she was fighting used that opportunity to disarm and throw her on his shoulders. He walked slowly towards Crystal.
"It's you..." his eyes widened as he took her in. Sinbad had never seen a more radiant person. She had glistening caramel-brown hair and gentle green eyes, so warm and sweet they reminded him of his mother.
Crystal felt self-conscious, feeling his stare.
It froze her in her tracks.
His hand shot out and grabbed hers, dragging both of them out of the crowd and towards a boat.
"Come with me," he said gently.
Crystal really wanted to. As she looked up into his eyes, they shined with such brightness and radiance, she just had to say yes.
And she did.
The three of them jumped in a boat and set off.
