It has been ten years since the white haired mother left the Todoroki's. The older children being neglected whilst Shoto silently hated his father.
He was admitted to a school for the children of famous people. He refused to make any friends and stayed quiet the whole day whilst everyone else chatted and made friends. He heard a few people talking about him.
It was only the orientation. The first day would be even harder for him to manage. He just didn't want to speak with anyone. They were permitted to leave after meeting their teachers and fellow students.
Shoto walked out of the doors and felt someone tap on his shoulders. She was his height with long black hair tied back with a red ribbon. She wore a beige romper with a red shirt underneath with a pair of white vans. She looked beautiful.
"Hi! I love what you did to your hair. How'd you get the barber to dye half of it?" She asked. He held back a scowl. She had no idea he was born with this curse of a hair color. He looked to much like his father on one side, and too much like his mother on the other half. When he faced her, she gasped at his scar and eyes. They were fascinating.
"I was born like thi-" he tried to say calmly but she interrupted him.
"It kind of looks like Cherry and Vanilla Ice cream. Like when you go to the ice cream place and it has a swirl! It looks so cool. I wish my hair was like that..." she sighed. She looked at the ground. She did look pretty plain compared to a few students in the room.
"Oh! Are you Shoto Todoroki? I remember the media kept commenting about your hair when we were younger." She twirled her long hair on her finger. It did nothing for her body. A large car horn honked and the girl jumped.
"Oh, sorry, that's my mom and dad. I'll see you later Todoroki~Kun!" She said and waved goodbye. He still hadn't caught her name. Eh. Her parents were famous, how hard could it be?
Extremely hard! He at least needed a last name! Searching up, 'famous people with black hair' can only get you so far... Shoto just growled. He wanted to know who she was before school started that next week.
He still appreciated her words. It was funny and it used to be his mom's favorite sorbet when she was around. It was cute how she was only thinking of food at the moment. Well, they didn't feed the kids... it was still cute.
Shoto walked around his home as his sister and brother just waited for him to say what he wanted for dinner. Obviously, wanting cold Soba noodles, Shoto squinted his eyes and glared at his sister.
"Shoto you can't live off of Soba your whole life." Fuyumi rolled her eyes. She was annoyed with her father as well for neglecting them, but she was trying to keep the family together, despite everything going on. She began to fix up some Soba just to keep him happy.
"How was the orientation?" Natsuo asked.
"It was fine I guess. Some girl complemented me." He said. Natsuo laughed. "What?"
"Dude, do you know her name?" Natsuo playfully hit his brother. Shoto shook his head as Fuyumi served dinner. He began slurping as Natsuo talked.
"You don't- you didn't get... Dude!" Natsuo groaned. He just got to know his brother again. He never knew he was this dense?! Well, years of abuse from Enji, a dense bastard who wouldn't expect such a thing from his son. "Do you at least remember what she looked like?" He laughed. Shoto nodded.
"Plain." Fuyumi was going to slap her brother for saying such a thing.
"Don't call girls plain! We take offense to that you know!" She gave a glare but it was all meant in a loving manner. She didn't actually think the girl would be offended if that's what she looked like.
"But seriously, I might know her, what does she look like?" Fuyumi asked."She has black features. That's it."
"Wow, That is pretty plain..." Fuyumi said.
"Why do you guys care so much. It was just a compliment. Nothing else..." he said. Natsuo glances at Fuyumi and vice versa. They were looking at each other for a reason to meddle in their youngest brother's life. They needed to learn about his life.
"We actually don't know? We just want to know you better..." Natsuo sighed. Shoto just nodded. Finishing his food, Shoto got up and washed his dish. Fuyumi helped him do it and they accidentally broke a dish. They stared at the clutter and heard their father's footsteps. He was not going to like the mess they made...
Quickly, Fuyumi hurried around, looking for a broom and dustpan as Natsuo just bare handedly picked up the shattered ceramic bowl. They didn't want to get striked by their father.
Natsuo's hand began to bleed from the ceramic and ran to throw it away. When Enji finally got to the kitchen, there was nothing to see. Just his kids washing dishes.
"What was that noise?" He asked angrily.
"We accidentally broke a dish, but we cleaned it up!" Fuyumi said. She didn't like lying, and if she did and her father found out, they'd be beat even harder.
"Pathetic. Can't even do one thing right without breaking something. Don't do it again." He said. The man glared at his sons and daughter, slapping Fuyumi's cheek. He turned back around and left. Natsuo glared at their sister.
"You didn't have to tell him!" They began arguing. Natsuo bandaged his hands and stormed into his room to get away from their older sister. She could be so annoying sometimes! She was always telling the truth even if it could cause them a mark that didn't disappear for days! He was just worried for her.
Shoto just walked into his room. Fuyumi was just trying to keep them together. They were slowly drifting apart again, and Fuyumi didn't know how to bring them back to normal...
They all wish Toya was there, they'd even go along with him if it came to that. He kept them together as well. He protected Shoto from Enji better than Rei, mostly because Toya wasn't afraid to fight back. He would ignite a match and walked into their father's room and light the blankets on fire. Rei was gone of course when he pulled that stunt. His acts would cause him to get more beatings than anyone else. He was glad to take their pain away and suffer himself.
He was their hero. Or at least, he was before he ran away from home.
"I miss you Toya..." Fuyumi said, looking at an old family photo. No one was smiling, but Toya was there with the biggest shit eating grins to piss off Enji. It was funny.
He was gone... they haven't seen him in nine years. He was sixteen when he left. He would be about twenty five or six now.
"Please come back."
