Chapter seventeen: Depths of Danger

We were all in the dining room having lunch. Are you all ready for dessert? Ella asked as she walks into the room. Yeah! Amy and Cream yelled in excitement right after they say that grandpa comes in with Mr. Tanaka who's holding a tray of passports. I'm glad you're here, I've got good news. grandpa said as he and Mr. Tanaka walks over to where we are. What kind of good news, Chuck? Tails asked. I'm going to hand out some official documents issued by the government that you'll need to hang on to. grandpa said. Documents? Tails asked. Yes. To verify your identity. grandpa said. But what for? Amy asked. They'll help you prove who you are when you travel around. And for Tails, we have special licenses that allow him to fly any kind of aircraft he can build to any destination on the planet. grandpa said. All these just to fly? Tails asked. He never needed them before. Chris said. Well, that's the price Tails and the others will have to pay for being made residents of this place. From now on, they're going to have to follow the same rules and regulations as the rest of us. grandpa said as Amy opens her passport and takes a glance at it. She gets mad upon seeing her profile picture and boy she was not happy abut how it turned out. I look terrible! Amy yelled. Really? Mr. Tanaka asked. You do? Chris asked. Let me see. Cream said. Oh cm'n it can't be that bad. I said as gave Sky some of my pudding who was just giggling happily all the while trying to eat the pudding that is been given to her. Yeah it is I mean why did they have to use this picture? I look like a lunatic! Amy yelled. Now now, Ms. Amy. I wouldn't say it makes you look like a lunatic, exactly. Mr. Tanaka said a bit nervously. It makes me look like an insane, off-the-wall, out-of-control maniac!  I HATE IT!!!!!! Amy screamed the last part just then my husband Sonic comes speeding in and over to where Sky and I are. Hey there, guys. What's all the excitement about in here? Sonic asked after he gave both Sky and I a kiss Sky on the cheek and me on the lips in greeting. Sonic! Just in time. I've got your documents, too. Here, always keep this with you. grandpa said as he passes Sonic's documents to him. Huh? What's this for? Sonic asked. It's a passport so you can go wherever you want whenever you want to even if you pretty much do that now anyways. I said making him smirk and wink at me. Yeah I do but this is still pretty cool sense I do like to travel if I wanted to go wherever I want on this whole planet it'd take me... Sonic starts to say only to pause to give a small chuckle. about a day! Sonic finished saying we then went to the garage where we prepared to take off in the X Tornado. Bye everybody. Amy said. We'll see you later. Cream said. Now you be careful up there. No funny stuff. Ella said. Bye grandpa we'll see ya! Chris and I said in sync. Bye Sky mommy and daddy loves you. Sonic and I said in sync. we'll be waiting. grandpa said meaning both he and Sky will be waiting just then the palm trees of the runway lean away from the runaway as the X Tornado takes off. X Tornado, take off! Tails yelled while Mr. Tanaka and Ella wave goodbye to us from below.

After they leave I then turn towards Mr. Tanaka, Tanaka go keep an eye on Chris and Kaylee but make sure they don't see you. I said. Yes, sir. I will be invisible. Mr. Tanaka said then he leaves.

(Sonic p.o.v. )

Kaylee and I are cruising outside the plane with my arm wrapped around her waist and her head on my shoulder while Amy and Cream are inside conversing. Oh Amy, are we going to go somewhere that is sunny? Cream asked. Uh huh. Amy starts to say as she then shows Cream the travel guide she's reading. Look! The Grand Blue Sapphire Sea! This travel guide says it's one of the most beautiful places of the whole planet. I bet the sunsets are very romantic. Amy finished saying. Hey Amy, do you read me? Chris asked. Huh? Amy asked. Check out the scenery down there. It's really pretty awesome. Chris said. I'm not looking. I only care about one thing and that's getting to the Sea asap. Amy said. That's what I'm/he's trying to tell you. We're flying over the Grand Blue Sapphire Sea right now. Chris and Kaylee said then right after they had said that Amy and Cream turn to the beautiful sights of the ocean below. Wow! The water looks amazing! Amy said. It's so beautiful... Cream said. Yeah! I wanna go swim! And go water-skiing too! Amy told us on what she had plan to do once we get there. Let's all go sailing! Cream said. Yeah! we can't wait! Kaylee and Chris said. Hey, Chris. Tails call over to my brother-in-law to get his attention. What's wrong? Chris asked. Check out the Chaos Emerald. Tails said as the Chaos Emerald begins glowing brightly. Could it be another emerald? Chris asked right after he asked that the X Tornado starts shaking. Hey, what's going on? I asked as I hold Kaylee a bit more tightly so she doesn't fall of the plane. The same thing happened when we were flying over Diamond Stadium. And that means...Tails trails off. Since we're flying over water, there must be a Chaos Emerald underwater. Cream finished for him. You're right, Cream. Amy said. Then we have to go find it. Chris said. Hang on, I see a landing spot. I'm gonna take us down. Tails said after landing the X Tornado we noticed that we have arrived at a coastal town. Thanks love. Kaylee said after I helped her get down off the plane's wing then she gave me a kiss on the cheek. No problem love ahh... nice place here. I said as we then see that several civilians had turned their attention to us. Let's try to keep a low profile here, okay guys? I asked. Hey, isn't that Sonic the Hedgehog and his wife Kaylee Thorndyke the famous model? one of the passer-by asked 'How did they know that she's my wife well I guess word gets around fast when your famous. I thought. Yes, it is them. another one said. a second one said.I wonder what they are doing here. a third one said. Let's get their autographs! a fourth one said the suddenly, a large crowd of the civilians all come rampaging and followed after us. Stampede! Chris yelled. We better get out of here quick! I yelled as I grabbed Kaylee's hand as we seemingly outran the civilians and stop at a beach huffing and puffing from our sprint. We can't escape crowds no matter where we go. Chris said. Being famous isn't any fun. I just wish we can blend in with the crowd but that seems impossible. Amy said. We all stick out too much. It was a lot easier when we had to hide out at your house. Tails said. Well, at least we lost that crowd for a little while. Cream said trying to look on the bright side. Yeah, why don't we all go for a swim while we have a chance? Amy asked. Hey, didn't Sonic and Kaylee run here with us? Where did they go? Cream asked. Maybe they decided to go look for that Chaos Emerald by their self's. Chris said as he then began wondering around the beach in search of Kaylee and I. Sonic! Kaylee! Where are you two? Hey! Sonic! Kaylee! I wish they didn't have to do things on their own. Kaylee and I hear Chris say. You're talking about us? I asked. So there you two are. I thought you two be looking for the Chaos Emerald not taking it easy. Chris said. That Chaos Emerald's out there somewhere but I can't find it unless if I can get to the bottom and stay there for a while. I said. Huh? Hmm... so the big problem is how to get you an air supply down there, right? Leave it to me! Chris said Well have fun with that I'm going to ether join Amy and Cream for a swim in the sea or with Tails and Cheese rest on the beach to get a tan. Kaylee said Ok have fun. I said then I gave her a peck on the lips as Chris then hands me one end of a hose then she walks away. Our problem's solved. Now you can get to the emerald. Chris said as I stick the end of the hose into my mouth. I hope you're sticking the other end of this thing to a milkshake. I said. No, it's an air hose. I'll keep this end up here so you can breathe. Make sure you don't lose the hose or you'll be in trouble. Chris said. Yeah, and how is air- I started to say but then I cut myself off. Okay, I'll give it a shot. I said as I decided to just go with it. Good luck Sonic. Chris said with that I jump into the water and walks along the seabed while breathing through the hose back at the surface the hose holder drops into the water causing it to be stuck behind some sea rocks that prevent me from proceeding forwards. While I'm trying to pull the hose holder out crab takes notice of this and lunges at me cutting the hose with its pincers I the start to struggle to breath. As the crab pinches my rear end as I was swimming up to the surface as I reached the surface the crab pinches me again before falling back into the water Chris then returns with a large bell. Here, this will work. You can bring air with you. It's a diving bell. See? Chris asked. This is the most ding a ling thing I've ever heard of. I said before I return underwater carrying the bell with me. It's hot in here but it sure beats breathing through a hose. Only I can't see where in the water I'm going. I wish this thing had a window. I said I then trip over a sea rock and the large bell traps me in. Oh great, I'm stuck! This diving bell is useless! I can't even ring it to get help! I yelled I'am then somehow rescued back to surface. Any more bright ideas? I asked a bit annoyed that so far that none of his so called ideas hadn't really worked out so well. We can't give up yet. There's gotta be some way to reach that emerald. Chris said we then went and got the rest of the gang so now we are strolls through the coastal town.If we're going to search underwater, the best way to go is to rent some scuba gear. You'll always need to use professional equipment or else diving can be really dangerous. Chris said making me frown at this as me , Kaylee, Chris and the rest of gang then arrive at a diving shop to purchase the necessary equipment. We'll need five air tanks, plus flippers and a pair of goggles for me. I should have enough money with me to pay for all the diving equipment and the boat. How much will that all cost, sir? Kaylee asked. Forget it. You don't owe me a dime. the diving shop owner said. Huh? Chris asked. The government sent a notice to all shop owners that it would cover your bills as part of its "Sonic budget". So is there anything else I could get for you guys? the diving owner asked. Um...Chris started to say but din't know what to say. It might help if you told me what you are diving for. the shop owner. We're going to see... Erhm, wow, this awesome ship model is exactly the one on that painting, right? Chris asked. Oh yeah, they're the same. You see, this ship was lost at sea a long time ago and there's a legend it sank near here with a huge load of gold. Folks here think the legend is true. the diving owner said.Thanks you so much. Let's go get the boat guys. Kaylee said as we leave the diving shop. Take care, and have fun! I hope they find what they're looking for. the diving shop owner said then we were out at sea where me and the others were preparing our self to dive. Don't worry hun we'll be with you in case you get into trouble. Kaylee said then she gave me a kiss on the cheek. That's right. Chris said. But we know you'll do great down there. Tails said. Remember to take long deep breaths and you'll be okay. Chris said. Right. I said. Then let's go. Chris said the he dived into the water first. You're all set, Sonic?/ Babe? Amy and Kaylee asked in sync. Yep let's dive! I said as I grabbed Kaylee's hand then Amy, Tails, Cream, Kaylee and I dove in then followed Chris we swim near the ocean floor with Tails in front leading the way sense he's holding the Chaos Emerald. The Chaos Emerald's getting brighter. We must be getting closer! Tails said. Hey look! Chris yelled as we stop swimming when we see something. Whoa! Kaylee and Chris yelled in sync as we see that we had arrived at the wreckage of a ship.That must be the ship the guy in the diving shop told us about. Kaylee said. It looks like that's where we'll find the Chaos Emerald, too. Tails said. Then what are we waitin' for? Let's go check it out. I said as we then proceed towards the wreckage once we had entered the wreck we also seem to
have stumbled across the treasure. Wow... Tails said. So the legend was true. Chris said. It's amazing! Cream said. Think of how much jewelry you could make with all this gold! Amy said. This is glowing at full brightness now. I bet the new Chaos Emerald is buried somewhere under all this gold. We'll have to dig through the treasure to find it. Tails said. Right. But that could take us forever! Chris said right after he had said that the crab that I saw earlier appears holding the white Chaos Emerald. What's that?! Chris asked. Oh, no way! I said in shock. He's got the Chaos Emerald. Chris said. You think he'll give it to us? Tails asked as I approaches the crab startling it. Hold it right there! We need that Chaos Emerald drop it or I'l give you something to be crabby about. I threaded the crab just tosses the Chaos Emerald to Amy and flees. This vacation turned out to be very rewarding. Kaylee and Amy said in sync. We're one step closer to going home! Cream said happily. Your vacation is over, Sonic! we hear behind us making all of us turn around only to see that it's the Egg Fort descending towards us. He's going to wish he never saw the sea! Clurken, put the sting on the hedgehog! Egghead yelled as the robot that's is now known as  Clurken approaches. You guys get back to the boat. I can handle Eggman and this robot myself. I said. All right. But be careful babe Come on, guys! Kaylee said then she gave me a kiss on the cheek  before everyone but me swam for the surface as Clurken attempts to crush me with one of its tentacles but I dodged I try to run but I only succeed in kicking up a dust cloud as Clurken slams all its tentacles into the ground causing the ground to break and send me flying. Running underwater is really a drag! It's impossible to move fast here! I said as Clurken's tentacles fire missiles the force of the explosions send me towards the surface.

Chris,Tails, Amy and I are on the boat once on the boat Chris helps Cream onto the boat. Is everybody okay? Kaylee and Chris asked in sync. Of course we are! Tails said. Ahoy! Ahoy, Master Chris! Mistress Kaylee! we someone call out to us but then we see Mr. Tanaka coming our way in one of our yachts. I came to rescue you two! Mr. Tanaka said.  Mr. Tanaka? Chris and I asked in sync. We do not have much time. All of you, get aboard, quickly! Mr. Tanaka said. Hold on! What are you doing here? Chris asked. Chris grandpa probably had sent him to keep us save. I said. Yes indeed Mistress Kaylee I did promised your grandfather I'd keep you two out of trouble, so I followed you all here. I saw you needed help, and came faster that you can say "Dinner is served." Mr. Tanaka said after he had said that Chris' mouth had hanged open meanwhile my husband Sonic had to dodge another tentacle attack but takes hold of it and allows Clurken to throw him to the surface Clurken surfaces itself and uses all its tentacles to lift Sonic and toss him repeatedly into the air.  Hey! Get your tentacles off of me! Hey! Cut it out! Sonic yelled.  Put him down! Chris and I yelled in sync just then our uncle Sam arrives right on time on a jet ski. Haha ha ha! Uncle Sam to the rescue! uncle Sam yelled. Uncle Sam! Chris and I yelled in sync. I heard you guys might be in a jam so I speed right over! uncle Sam yelled as he picks up a handle used for water skiing. Grab this and you can ski your way free! uncle Sam called over to Sonic as he tosses the handle to Sonic who catches it he takes off as Clurken fires more missiles at Sonic, but they miss.  Come on! You can do better than that, Eggman! Sonic yelled.  Hey Sonic! Tails yelled as he fly's over Sonic making him look up to see Tails flying above him. A ring! Here, catch! Tails yelled as he tosses a Power Ring to Sonic, who catches it to our uncle Sam's surprise, Sonic does a spin-dash, U-turns in midair, and barrels through Clurken, causing it to explode brilliantly All right! Chris and I cheer in sync as our uncle Sam gives Sonic a thumbs-up, who returns it with a wink. Thanks, Sam. Sonic said as we make it back to the dive shop.  Whoa! I can't believe it! The legend of the sunken ship is true? the diving shop owner asked after we had told him what had happened. Yeah. But Eggman's robot came after us and wrecked the wreck. Whatever's left of that ship and the treasure gut buried on the sea bottom. Chris told him.  Ah, I see... But the ship really did exist. You saw it. the diving shop owner said making both me and Chris nod our head. Yeah. Chris and I said in sync as the Diving Shop Manager looks at the painting behind him. I tried to find that ship for years thanks to you, I finally have proof that it was real. the diving shop owner said we then went back to our boat by time we got back it was now sunset. Then the guy at the diving shop told me the most amazing story of all. Turns out, his great-grandfather was the captain of that sunken ship we found. Chris told tails.  Whoa, cool! Tails said. I'm sure glad we came here. Cream said. Chao-chao! Cheese said in agreement.  And now that Dr. Eggman's gone, we can enjoy our vacation. Amy said Yeah you said it Amy. I said as I layed on one of the sofas on the boat with my head on Sonic's lap with him playing with my hair.
