Lettuce leaves.
Perfect for crafting clothing, especially in this freezing cold place.
Well, that's what Yoongi thought at least...until he tried to craft clothing using his bare hands with no prior experience.
"DAMN IT!" Yoongi shouted following an attempt at wrapping a leaf around his waist. The thin plant slid down him with nothing to hold it onto his slim figure. He would need some kind of fastener or...some kind of rope.
"Rope...tighten...something, anything to-" Yoongi's eyes latched onto the stems of some of the leaves in front of him, a knowing grin spreading across his lips.
The stems! Perfect for tying knots...perhaps he could use one as a belt.
Approaching the nearest green leafy object, he bit his lip in concentration as he held onto the stem, pulling backwards with all of his might. The stem came off almost instantly, the leftover inertia from the motion forcing his body backwards. He groaned as his back hit the cold plastic floor, hand coming up to rub the now sore area over his tailbone.
But at least he got the stem!
Raising his shoulders in pride with a signature Yoongi neck pop, the college student hussled towards the leaf meant for his makeshift body wrap. With one hand securing the leaf to him and the other one wrapping the stem around him, Yoongi was getting the hang of making clothes.
His nimble fingers knotted the stem tightly, the healthy clothing fitting him nicely. Soon enough, his body heat bounced off of the leaf and brought him some comfort in the tundra-like atmosphere.
"Ahh...so much better," he crooned as he waltzed toward some more leaves. His shivering had diminished quite a bit; his muscles relaxed as he worked on making more clothing.
He would need some leg warmers...arm warmers, maybe ear muffs? Some gloves, a face mask? Yeah...he definitely needed a face mask.
Before long, what once was a shivering lost boy was completely transformed into a warm and confident adventurer. Min Yoongi was swathed in layers of green, tied tightly to him with the stems of leafy greens.
As he left the lettuce area, he got a good look at himself in the clear reflection of a water bottle.
"Oh. My. God."
To Yoongi, the man standing before him wasn't himself, but a Spartan warrior who appeared to be disguised as a blade of grass. He laughed as he imagined himself camouflaged as a house plant in his new apartment, his dog walking past unaware that he was there.
"Ahhh...Noodle. I miss you."
Images of his unfed dog floated through his mind as he trudged along the bottom floor of the fridge. He still hadn't thought of any great ideas that would bring him to the upper floor, which weighed heavily upon him.
How was he supposed to get all the way up there without climbing equipment or a rope of some sort-
Wait. Rope!
Excitedly, Yoongi peered down at his outfit, the stems he used from before standing out to him like a godsend. He would go back to the lettuce and make a long rope for climbing!
Running in his new green suit, Yoongi cheered joyously as the lettuce came back into sight.
He would make it out of there...
Clicking his tongue to the victory song playing in his head, Yoongi's hands rapidly dove for as many stems as he could find. Tearing them off of the leaves they were attached to, the excited boy skillfully knotted stem to stem. After a good half hour of doing so, he had a long rope coiled on the ground at his feet.
"YES! PERFECT!" his rolling tone echoed back to him joyfully off the walls of the fridge.
Now where was he going to...hook it?
The boy searched his surroundings thoroughly. Head craned to try and catch a glimpse of the floor above him, Yoongi's eyes locked onto something. It sat brightly on the floor above his, and there was a perfect loop on it for him to hook his rope through.
A jug of milk!
Perfect!
But how was he supposed to get the rope up there?
"If only I was up a bit higher..." he mumbled, dragging the rope behind him like a lifeless snake. His green encased figure circled around the lettuce bag, thinking of a plan.
"I need to get on something high...like," he glanced to his left, "Like those water bottles! Those would be tall enough to throw the rope...but how do I get on top of them..."
The food surrounding him was silent, sitting there while he shuffled from side to side, contemplating what to do. There were strawberries, some peaches, some grapes...
Grapes! That was it!
Yoongi set the rope down as he jogged over to the container of unopened grapes. The round fruits were a deep purple, stacked in clumps inside of the plastic container. In his mind he saw himself rolling them out of the container, stacking them in a neat line and making some kind of grape-stairway up to the water bottle.
Plus, he knew that grape skin might be a little bouncy too, which might just help him later on.
"Yes! Alright, first I need to-"
His words fell out of his mouth as a high pitched frequency burst through his threshold of hearing. Blinking a few times in confusion, he tilted his head to get a better listen.
Was that the...fridge? No...the fridge made a low humming noise, not an annoying shrill ring.
Yoongi frowned, rubbing his chin as the sound intensified. He stepped back from the grapes and turned his head around.
The fridge door wasn't opening, so it wasn't another hand...and it wasn't the fridge itself so...
BBBUUUUUUUUZZZZZZZ!
"WHAT THE FUCK!?"
Suddenly the source of the noise flew into his vision, scaring the living daylights out of his frail figure. Yoongi jumped back instinctively, back pressed against the plastic of the grape container.
A huge, monstrous fly had flown in front of him, black hairy body casting shivers down Yoongi's spine. It's large eyes were even more disgusting up close, the spiky hairs on its back shifting to and fro as the beast's wings batted. The shrill noise was absolutely deafening; Yoongi couldn't even hear himself spewing swears out.
His back against the plastic, Yoongi's leafy arm came up in a stopping motion. The fly, however, only saw someone its own size and wanted to interact...or eat him. Ignoring the boy's upheld hand, the beast was on the approach, buzzing as it drifted towards Yoongi.
"NO NO NO WHY ARE YOU COMING BY ME GO AWAY WHAT THE FUCK YOU CREEPY LITTLE, NO NOT LITTLE, HUGE FAT BIG LARGE BASTARD- AHHHHHhh!"
The enormous fly was only moments away from landing on top of him, the boy cowering deeper into the grape container. Any minute now his new leafy clothing would be soiled by himself. Not unless he did something...
No, Yoongi...don't cower, fight back...that's right, just-
"FIGHT BACK!" Yoongi yelled as he brought his fists up. The fly recoiled a bit at the sight, but brushed it off as it continued advancing towards him.
As the fly made to land on him, Yoongi noticed a long black tube uncoiling from its shaking body. It looked slimy...reminding him of a tar-black esophagus...like it meant to protrude into his skin and suck out his bodily juices.
"FUCK THAT SHIT I'M OUT!"
Yoongi broke into a sprint towards the peaches, head whipping back to see the fly in close pursuit.
