Instead of putting trigger warnings at the start of each chapter, I'm just going to say this now. If you get easily triggered by violence/kidnapping/swearing, this probably isn't the book for you so just stop reading now if you don't think you can handle it. Stay safe✌️

Josh's POV

I've been planning this for months, years even, and today was finally the day. I had everything ready, all my supplies packed into my school bag underneath the few books I had actually bothered to pack.

It started off as any normal days would; having breakfast, watching a bit of TV, getting dressed. I set off to school a little bit earlier than usual and made sure to wrap up warm so that I didn't get a cold from the winter weather. It was actually pretty sunny today, despite the fact that it was probably minus two degrees and had been snowing all night.

I got in my car and drove it to the petrol station near Oliver's house that I park it at everyday. I then waited in the car for a certain brown eyed boy to walk past, just to confirm he was going to go to school today. To my luck, I was only waiting a few minutes until I saw him walk by, wearing a thick hoodie over his uniform to combat the cold.

I waited a little longer before getting out of my car, turning off the engine, locking the door and then following the same path Oliver had just taken. Call me creepy all you want but I was just making sure he got to school safely. I'll never forget the day he got beaten up on his way to school by some random chavs, since then I've been following him to and from school everyday.

Most of my classes dragged on, especially maths. God I hate maths, why the hell did I pick it for A levels? Soon it was lunchtime and I was walking to the common room alone. I don't really have many friends at this school, sure I have many acquaintances that pretend to like me because they know I'm rich and throw good parties but none of them really knew me. To them I was just a passing face in the crowd who they could buy cheap alcohol and sometimes weed from, they didn't really care about me.

I was walking silently down the corridor with my eyes glued to my phone screen when I heard footsteps coming my way. I looked up to see Oliver's familiar face staring back at me. When our eyes connected he smiled his normal shy, sweet smile at me which I of course returned.

Oh my god he smiled at me! Does that mean he likes me? I am so overthinking this right now and I sound like a 12 year old girl with her first crush. Pull yourself together Josh! It's not long now until he will be mine anyway, no matter if he wants to like me or not.

I spend the rest of my day thinking about my sunshine. Somehow his smile has managed to brighten up my entire world and I can't stop smiling. Who am I kidding, Oliver brightens up my world everyday, even on the days I don't see him.

After school, I walk my normal route to the alley by his house and watch him enter his home from across the street. I wait a few minutes until he's settled on the sofa in the living room before jumping over the fence and running to my car like I do everyday. But today I do something different.

Today, instead of going home I wait. I turn on the radio and sit silently whilst the shitting music fills my ears. I'm in too good of a mood to even care about what I'm listening to so instead of changing station, I just sit back and roll with it.

I wait until the sky is completely dark and then wait a little bit longer. Adrenaline is pumping through my veins, making me want to puke with excitement but also nervousness at the same time. I can't stop my hands from shaking as I turn on my car engine and slowly drive to Oliver's house.
