CHAPTER FORTY-THREE Tonya Vs. Barkos

I sat up in bed clutching to the sheets for dear life while Jay and the other men went outside to check out who was wondering around our property. I couldn't breath I feared for my life as well as for the others. I thought of Jay and feared for his life as well. I couldn't handle the pressure and being pregnant was making it even worse so I leaned up throwing up on the floor. I had to get out to see if Lindsay and Laci and the kids were alright. 

I got out of bed with shaking legs I grabbed a big small gun that had been sitting on mine and Jay's nightstand he had, had it for a while but never used it. I didn't see the gun hardly ever but I recall he came in one day showing it to me. I opened the door peeking around the corners of every room of the cabin to see if anyone was in sight but no one was. I went into the nursery where I heard voices being made. I knew that Lindsay and Laci had taken shelter in there to protect my babies. So I went inside only to find that thankfully Lindsay had hold of Tyler while Laci held onto her and Tammy and Ariel clutched to their night gowns all shaking with fear. "What's wrong?" I asked in a whisper. 

"Someone's in the house we saw them walk passed our rooms after the men left." Said Lindsay. "So we took shelter in here." Said Laci. With a gun in my hand I clicked it, "Stay here." I said as I shut the door behind me locking it. 

I was shaking with fear the whole time while sweat was dripping from my forehead and falling onto the floor. I kept my breathing as quiet as I could make it so that I wouldn't be found out. This cabin might be small but there were plenty of places to hide. Like all them cop shows I watched as a child I stayed along side the wall with my gun pointed upward and any time I was about to come around the corner I would point the gun all around ready to aim at the slightest of sounds. I came into mine and Jay's room again, to see that someone indeed was sitting there on our bed. 

"Well, hello there Tonya. It's been what about a year now since you tried to kill me? And now this? Hmm? You gonna shoot me darling?" My hands shook as I found it more and more difficult to hold the gun in place to get a perfect shot. 

"Barkos? Please, don't make me hurt you." I said really not wanting to kill anyone. I have never killed before and didn't want to start now. "I see the men had left so that means you are all alone with me again. How is my baby daughter by the way?" "She's not here." I said in a quick lie. 

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. You lie to me? I thought you knew better than that innocent sweet Tonya." I was becoming outraged at how Barkos was taunting me. "Please, Barkos. Just leave, I promise you, you can go free. I have the men back off. Just please leave before you get hurt. I don't wanna have to kill you now." I said still holding the gun towards him. 

"Leave? No, I won't leave. You and I are gonna have a little talk. Come here." He said gesturing for me to come over and sit by him. "No, I won't. Just leave Barkos." I said speaking a bit louder. That's when he launched up at me knocking the gun out of my hands. He covered my mouth while pinning me down on the floor. "Shhhh, you don't want the men to hear us now do you?" I could feel Barkos trying to lift up my gown I knew then that he was gonna rape me again. Filed with rage and fear I bit his neck real hard as he yelled out in pain. I punched him in the stomach with my free elbow and I tried to go for the gun when he grabbed me by my feet pulling me towards him and laying me flat on my stomach while lifting up my gown and able to get access to my ass and vagina. 

I tried fighting for my life. But it was becoming even more hard but I used what strength I had to lift myself up off the floor to get him off of me when I flipped over on my back he saw my stomach. "My, my, my pregnant are we?" I could see that I was close to the gun, when he pulled out a knife holding it to my stomach.

 "You scream and I might as well perform a C-Section on you and yank that little bastard out of you right now." Fearing for my baby's life I reach from behind me grabbing the gun and firing it at the last second while laying on my back. I heard Barkos scream out, I saw that he was holding his left arm I had shot him there with an angry look on his face he launched out at me and I fired again this time shooting him in the heart. Before falling to his knees he looked at me and said, "you, bitch!" And he fell to his knees then on the floor. I quickly got up off the floor not able to cry or think. I heard cries come from the nursery and I knew all the ruckus had woken Tyler from his slumber. I kicked the knife away from Barkos's body and I went to unlock the door to the nursery when Laci, Lindsay and the kids came out crying. It wasn't long before the men came rushing in. 

"What happened? We heard the shots." Gabriel said holding Lindsay close to him. Jay came after me, he said that I had blood all over me but I knew it wasn't mine. Charles went into mine and Jay's room where the blood trail had led and he saw Barkos's dead body. "It was Barkos who was out wondering around. He must have gotten in when we left. Tonya you killed him?" Charles asked with a smile. 

"You killed him? Oh baby I wouldn't have let you do that if I had been here." Said Jay as he held me. "It's ok. I had to kill him." I said not feeling bad either way. But after killing someone for the first time, I was never the same after. I felt like I was a completely a different woman. Gabriel and Charles took Barkos's body out into the woods I wasn't sure of what they were gonna do but I could hear saw noises being made out back by the cabin and cutting up of the body being done so I knew that Barkos would be our meal some time later. 

I took Tyler in my arms after getting cleaned up by Jay who took me to the bathroom and helped me bath. Not that I needed it but he didn't want me alone. I couldn't cry, it's like I was in shock. I was just going through the motions and I when my bath was over I dried off getting a new gown on and panties and I went to where Lindsay and Laci still remained in the nursery and I held Tyler while Tammy cried on my lap. "It's ok baby. Mommy's here." I said while running my fingers through her hair. 

She didn't know that Barkos was her father which I was glad to have kept that part from her, all I said about her father was that he went missing shortly after she was born it wasn't a complete lie just a bit half the truth. That night none of us got any more sleep till the sun rose that Tammy and Ariel wanted to sleep because they were really tired but I was too. They wouldn't sleep without me though. So Jay told me to nap without a fight so I did. Tammy and Ariel came into my bed with me and we all snuggled together sleeping comfortably. 

As the weeks passed I was slowly starting to get better. Mine and Jay's cabin was finished by then and so he and I with Laci and Carlos moved into the cabin. Atlas was given the cabin with his dog Arctic while the Wilcox's went back home once Atlas assured them that no one was there or that no one had come around and such.
