there's purple bruises blooming beautifully on her thighs, peeking out to greet david's eyes every once and awhile when her dress hikes up just enough to expose them, the slit going up the side of her dress definitely doing no help in hiding them from his greedy view.
she's got a smile on her lips, a flute of champagne in her hand. she looks expensive, looks absolutely stunning, and she's certainly the only girl david is eyeing tonight. he's got a hand on her hip, holding her body close enough to his that he can smell her expensive perfume, toy with the sequins that cling to the pink fabric of her dress. "handsy tonight, are we?" she teases as the pair makes their way away from the people they'd been talking with, moving throughout the venue.
"mm," is all david hums in response, a fond smile on his lips as he glances down at his girlfriend, admiring the view. she's much prettier than david thinks he's worthy of, especially as she gazes up at him, rolling her eyes. he wishes they could be this open always, even in public, not just when in the company of their close friends. "how can i not be when my girl's lookin' so pretty?" he bows his head, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
she giggles quietly, her elbow digging softly into his side. that's perhaps her favorite name he's begun to call her, and so she can't help but bite back a smile as they walk. she's still cautious about being with him when they're not alone, not used to more than friendly gestures he gives up to her. this is what she wanted--the two of them allowed to be together freely in public-- but it'll definitely take some getting used to. "hush, you," she says, a smile pulling upwards on her glossy lips. "you look very good tonight, d," her fingertips dance up his chest, nails tapping quietly on the buttons of his white shirt. "have i told you how good y'look?"
david's smile widens and he shakes his head, bringing a hand up to clasp her face in his palm, index finger and thumb clasping her chin. "don't think you have, baby. you'll have to tell me again sometime, hm?"
she nods her head in a silent agreement, his hand falling back down to her hip as kristen makes her way over towards the couple. the woman is dressed in a black dress that glitters under the chandelier that hangs overhead, a smile on her lips. "hey, you two. looking like the powercouple of the night, huh?" she grins, reaching out to wrap her thin arms around madison's shoulders, pulling her in for a hug. the two hadn't seen each other in awhile, and so the party thrown tonight to celebrate a mutual friend's engagement is certainly a welcome meeting for the pair.
"you and scott look great as well," madison assures kristen, reaching out to squeeze the girl's hand. "very hot." he pinches her hip lightly, smiling as she nudges his side with her arm. she's got a little grin on her lips and her eyes are narrowed ever so slightly as she glances up at david, shaking her head so subtly he can barely catch the motion. "speaking of," she tips her head, smiling at kristen. "where is scott? i've been meaning to congratulate him."
"on what?" david asks, peering down at the girl he's come to adore a little more than he probably should. she glances up at him, lips pulling up in a smile as she shakes her head, slinking an arm around his middle, her hand resting on the curve of his hip.
"his album, baby," she narrows her eyes as she looks up at her boyfriend, raising an eyebrow. david makes a little 'o' shape with his mouth and nods his head, smiling even as his girlfriend takes a step away from him, watching as she and kristen disappear into the crowd. it doesn't take long for david to find himself in a group of people, chatting back and forth casually with a few of his friends.
they're both social people--david and her--and so they get on well even without the other around. this doesn't stop him from searching for her face in the crowd, though, especially not when he hears the song switch over and instantly recognizes it as one of her favorites. he finds her halfway through the song. she's in the middle of where a crowd of people have gathered to dance, kristen at her side. they're both dancing and there's a wide smile on her lips and david can't force himself out of his place, and so he just stands there and watches her dance, biting back a grin because fuck, she looks good and fuck, that's his girl.
her eyes meet his from across the room, her smile forming into a little smirk as she tips her head back, biting down on her bottom lip. the look in his eyes is pure sin and she can recognize that even from this far away, her heartbeat speeding up in her chest. it doesn't take long for the song to come to a close and madison to excuse herself, pushing her way through the crowd to make her way towards the bathroom.
david watches her go, a smile on his lips. he stays where he's stood between erin and tj, the newly engaged couple currently chatting his ear off. he knows she's waiting for him, the door left slightly ajar, and so he lingers out for a moment longer before following after her.
she's inside the single bathroom, adjusting her dress as she gazes at her reflection in the mirror. she can't blame david for staring, because as she presses her thumb against the corner of her mouth to fix her slightly smudged lipstick, she can't help but think that she does look very good.
he's taking too long for her liking. she wonders if maybe he didn't see her walk away, wonders if he did and had still decided to leave her here alone. she frowns, glances over her shoulder and dips her hand down into her purse, fishing out her phone. she's typing out a text to david when the bathroom door swings open, drawing her gaze away from her phone screen and up to meet david's eyes.
"a little cliche," david hums as he closes the door behind him, clicking the lock shut. his eyes trace over the curve of her hips, the way her dress has hiked up as she leans back against the countertops. "meeting in the bathroom, that is."
there's a little smile on her lips, her hair falling down her shoulders to rest below her shoulder blades. "you like cliche things," madison answers, her eyes settled on his.
"do i?" he asks, bowing his head to press a kiss to her lips. it's soft and sweet but doesn't last nearly as long as she'd like, a smile on his lips as he pulls away.
"you do," she confirms, her hand wrapping around his forearm, slipping under the sleeve of his button up shirt. "you like cheesy romance movies and kissing in the rain and happy endings. you like cliches."
he can live with that, he decides, as her lips meet his once more. this'll be a happy ending. they'll kiss in the rain and watch cheesy romantic movies and they'll have a happy ending. it's what they deserve.
