"ginny, hermione, over here!" the two girls heard as the walked in. they found that the voice belonged to seamus finnigan. he and dean smiled at them as they made their way over. "how are you guys?" dean asked embracing both girls. "good," ginny said as they turned to hug seamus. "nervous though," hermione added sitting down. "oh don't worry," seamus shot her a smile. "yeah, everything will be fine" dean finished. "thanks guys," hermione said laughing.

ron and harry came over joining the four of them with luna and neville close behind. more greetings were passed around before everyone settled into their seats. hermione scanned the room for more familiar faces. her eyes landed upon the slytherin group consisting of draco, pansy, blaise, theo, and astoria. blaise looked up catching her eye. hermione saw his mouth move before the rest of the group looked up at her. she quickly looked away, embarrassed. she nudged ginny showing her the group of slytherins. ginny rolled her eyes grunting.

the room quieted down as kingsley stood up walking towards the podium. hermione didn't quite understand why kingsley was doing this, but she trusted him fully. she suddenly had a feeling that there was someone looking at her. she looked up meeting a pair of stormy silver eyes. draco quickly looked down as hermione caught his eye. he looked up again scanning the gryffindor group. rolling his eyes, he tuned back into what kingsley was saying hoping he would start calling the pairs soon. he wanted to get this over with.

pansy snapped him out of his thoughts saying, "do you think he'll pair us together?" draco shrugged. him and pansy weren't together any way. "he'll probably split us up from who we are comfortable with," blaise said leaning over. "bastard," pansy muttered causing the group to laugh.

"now when i call your name please come forward and meet with your partner in the middle. i will hand you an envelope and you may take a seat again until every pair has an envelope."

it sounded like school to draco. rolling his eyes he listened to the pairs being called. "dean thomas and seamus finnigan," kingsley called out. hermione watched as both boys broke out into wide smiles before both stepping up to receive their envelope. hermione was happy for the two of them; they were a perfect match.

a few more pairs were called before hermione heard her name being spoken aloud. "hermione granger and..."

"draco malfoy."
