☽annie was lying with her head on ashers chest, with his arms wrapped firmly around her. as she stared off into space, in a complete trance, asher looked down at her. she was perfect, and all he wanted to do was kiss her, but he thought she would never like someone like him. her eyes shined like the stars, and to him they were the most gorgeous thing in the world.
annie stared at the ceiling, thinking about how close she and asher had become in the space of about three days. it had taken her weeks to become properly comfortable in front of lilia, and they were supposed to be best friends. but she had cried in front of him and had danced with him and had fun with him, and she felt different around him, but it was a good different. she liked how free and confident she felt.all of a sudden, out of nowhere, asher rolled over, taking annie with him so he was on top of her. he put his hands either side of her to stop himself from falling on her and crushing her.
"hello." he said.
"hi. that was unexpected." annie smiled.
"that was the point." asher smiled back.
"well you did it very well."
"thank you." asher said, making annie giggle. she put her arms around him and gently pulled him down so he wasn't hovering over her anymore, and his head was on her chest. he rolled over slightly so he was lying on his back on top of her, and annie's hands instinctively went to his silky hair. she played with it, twisting it between her fingers while looking around his room. asher closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling.annie's eyes roamed around his room, looking at all the photos scattered around the place. they eventually landed one one that looked like it was a family photo from a long time ago, given the fact that asher was about six. he was holding a baby that annie assumed was his sister london, and avi was sat next to him. his parents were in the photo as well. they all looked so happy.
"that photo's so cute." annie pointed out. asher opened his eyes and followed her finger to see which one she was talking about.
"it's my favourite out of them all." asher said, sitting up, and annie followed. "because it's the only one i have with my dad in. when i was about eleven, it was just after he left, i got so angry." he said, curling his hands into fists and sounding more and more angry at each and every word. "so i smashed all the frames and ripped up all the photos. i never wanted to see his face again. i was angry at him for leaving, i was angry at him for making my mom sad, i was angry because london was still too young to understand, and i was angry at myself for believing that he was a good person." his face was red, and his nails were digging into his palms, creating tiny spots of blood. annie grabbed his hands and unclenched them, holding them tightly.
"at first i wanted to see him again, and then i just looked at how sad my mom was and i wanted him to know how i felt. i wanted him to feel as bad as i did." asher said loudly, trying to force his hands out of annie's grip. she let go, and pulled him into a hug, engulfing him in warmth.asher couldn't hold it together anymore. he let all of his emotions come rushing out of him in a fast-moving river of tears. all of his pain, sadness and anger was coming out. he shook with tears while annie rubbed his back soothingly. he was making her hoodie wet but she didn't care, it was his own hoodie anyway, and all she wanted to do was make sure he was okay. he buried his face into her chest so she wouldn't actually see him crying.
he pulled away after about fifteen minutes, his face blotchy and red, and his eyes were still watery.
"sorry for crying." he said quietly, wiping his eyes and looking down. annie out her hand under his chin and lifted his face up so he was forced to look her in the eyes. she cupped his face with her hands and wiped his remaining tears away.
"don't ever apologise to me for crying again, do you hear me?" she said sternly but gently. "i never wanna hear those words come out of your mouth again."
"thank you." he whispered. she reached up and kissed his cheek lightly. a shade of pink creeped over ashers face as he felt himself heating up and blushing.
"it's okay." she replied, still wiping away tears. asher squeezed his eyes shut to stop anymore tears coming out, making annie giggle quietly. "now come on, let's go and do something to cheer you up!"hi
