"Hotori! Can you help me with this?"
"Of course, ____."
"Hotori, could you get these materials from the study hall?"
"Of course, sir."
"Omg! Tadase-sama! Can you stay after school today to help with the ____ club?!"
"If you insist."
Time and time again... day after day... these requests pile up. Tadase gave a heavy sigh as he finally was able to go home.
He rubbed his eyes tiredly as his feet seemed to drag on. "Tadase, you should say no once in a while..." Kiseki informed.
"I can't do that," Tadase replied, his voice sounding strained.
Kiseki gave a quiet sigh and just gave up. That was the thing about Tadase- he seemed to give in to everyone but at the same time he was so stubborn.
The traditional Japanese home where Tadase lived came into the near distance. The blonde yawned sleepily as he slipped off his shoes again and reached for his slippers.
It felt like every day was like this. School, working, caring for his grandmother, and sleeping. Not much time for anything else.
Sadness gnawed in the back of his mind. He didn't have anything for himself... nothing...
"Wow, you seem so out of it."
A voice commented.
Tadase's eyes widened and he looked up, locking eyes with the person he missed most. "Ku..kai..." he breathed, lookin unsure.
"Hey, Tadase..." Kukai gave a small grin, opening his arms for the other.
He looked so inviting... Tadase felt his tired expression melt into a relieved one, relaxing into Kukai's arms. He was practically goo.
"Why are you here?" Tadase asked quietly, burying his face in that chest.
Kukai hummed holding Tadase close, pressing his tanned nose against the blonde hair, "A certain tiny prince called me..."
"Eh? Kiseki?" Tadase turned to look at Kiseki whom was flying out of the room in embarrassment.
"Haha! You should have heard him," Kukai chuckled. He then led Tadase to the blonde's room and sat on the bed, pulling Tadase into his lap, "wanna tell me what's going on?"
Tadase was flushed and his heart racing, but there's no way he could burden Kukai... he already had so much on his plate, "I-"
"Don't even think about lying to me, I know you, remember?" Kukai said sternly.
"I can't bother you with my problems, I'm fine, it's nothing..." Tadase insisted, leaning his head on Kukai's shoulder.
"Yeah, and I'm a hot pocket," Kukai rolled his eyes, "you can bother me. In fact I demand you bother me with your troubles."
"I can't..."
"Yes you can, want to know why?" Kukai continued when Tadase dipped his head, "Because you're my boyfriend. I'm your boyfriend. I tell you when I have problems, you listen. It's that same for you."
"But Kukai... you have other, more important obligations. I can't distract you." Tadase retorted weakly.
"No obligation is more important than you," Kukai smiled warmly, "you know it's so hard sometimes. I just want to ditch school and come see you. I don't do it though, because I know when we do eventually see each other it will be more special, though I want to spend as much time with you as I can."
Tadase's heartbeat sped up and he turned a bright shade of red, "I see," he murmured before he looped his arms around Kukai's neck, "I feel like every day is the exact same... everyone expects so much from me, and I'm too afraid to let them down..."
Kukai looked into Tadase's magenta eyes and smiled, booping their noses together, "You're human, it's only natural you're afraid of failure, but it's also natural to tell people enough is enough..."
The blonde smiled back at him and pressed their foreheads together, "you're right... I'm sorry I was being stubborn..."
"It's okay, your cute when pure vulnerable~" Kukai teased before stealing a swift kiss.
"Kukai! Don't do that out of nowhere!" Tadase complained, but everyone obviously knew he liked it.
"Nah, I'll kiss my cute boyfriend whenever I want," Kukai stated proudly.
Tadase gave a snort before tilting his head up and kissed Kukai again, but this time he let their lips linger.
The kiss had heated up considerably after the feeling of loneliness faded. Now they were tangled in each other's arms, limbs moving alongside another, and pants escaping their lungs.
They were finally together after long weeks, after bittersweet phone calls, and after desperate texts.
Need was all that registered between them.
