I was abruptly awoken by a firm shake to my shoulder. My father got me up with anger and hurt weighing down on his features. In a panicked fear, I followed my father to his room. Awaiting was my stepmother with a distressed look written on her face. Her back was stiff and she had her hands clasped in front of her. I slowly sat down waiting to find out what I did wrong. Little did I know the next words I would hear would affect me in a huge way.
