A Happy Ending?
With Aneka's assailant dead, there was no sense in staying around. Tom banked the U.S. five hundred and seventy thousand dollars cash from the watermelons on the truck and was there to meet Aneka after she was released from the hospital the next day.
The police had to close the case as 'a deal gone sour', between the two charred bodies in the warehouse, as there were no witnesses.
Thanner survived his wounds and went back to Mexico to answer to his boss. Thanner was fired, to his surprise, because his boss had had an heart attack, and the replacement head just didn't like the thought of taking out people for 'simple' mistakes.
A year later, a Mr. Thanner was visiting his first grandchild from Tom, and his now married Aneka.
He promised himself and the new family, that he'd stay away from any 'bad business', being happy to help raise his beautifully grandkids.
