Speke Hall, located near John Lennon Airport in Liverpool is one of my favorite National Trust Properties. Three families have trodden the boards of this house. The Norris's starting with Sir William Norris who built speke in 1530. To Mary Norris who married Sidney Beauclerk.
Then Charles beauclerk sold speke to Richard Watt in 1795. The Norris's were Catholics but survived persecution and took the royalist side during the English civil war. The house was sold onto the watt family who in the 18th century owned sugar plantations in Jamaica which made Richard Watt 1st very wealthy. The last person to live at Speke was Adelaide Watt.
