Little Moreton Hall located near Congleton in Cheshire is perhaps the best example of a timber-framed architecture in England. The Moreton's were powerful local landlords since the 13th century.
The Great Hall and the East Range are probably the earliest surviving parts of little Moreton. They date from the time of William Moreton 1.
The Great Hall
The Gatehouse at the main front of the house was built in the 1560s. Little Moreton hall is one of my favourite Tudor Buildings I have visited one other highlight about this place is the Long Gallery which was built in the early 1560s.
