A/N: Last chapter, my loves… it’s long and it’s sooo cheesy and clichéd, but I hope you like it. Thank you for staying until the end. ❤

Prom sucks. But I have to be here even without a date. It was expected of the team captain to show up. Damn these people and their expectations. It is so tiring. I sip on the horrid punch as I nurse my broken heart.

I played with the cufflinks of the suit Ming forced me to wear, saying I looked good in it. What's the point of dressing up when the person you want to impress was clearly not interested?

Then there's Jessie who has been pestering me to dance with her. I've been trying hard to avoid her the whole night. I have no energy to stand up or do anything.

I look at the dance floor. Even idiot Ming brought a date. Well he is not an idiot anymore, the team's calling him traitor Ming now. He actually brought someone from our rival school. Some dimpled guy called Kit. He hated people from that school with passion, but here he is now, stupidly drooling in front of a boy from that said school. Well not really drooling, but he looked ready to pounce on the poor guy any minute.

I shake my head disapprovingly as I moped in the corner. I miss him. I miss My Shorty. I was expecting him to come with Phana but for some reason, I only see Phana and Wayo. They've been together since the evening started. I even saw them dance to a slow song earlier. What's up with these two?

Someone cleared his throat and I looked up to see the two people I've been talking about.

"Forth, can we talk to you for a minute?" Phana said through the music.

I just scoffed.

"Please, P'," Wayo seconded. I looked at them, and just noticed that… they are holding hands.

"What-" I was about to get mad at Phana.

"It's about Beam," Phana said.

My ears quirked at the mention of his name.

"P'Forth, just for once, listen to us... please," Wayo asked.

I looked at the two clearly bothered with what I'm seeing.

"Fine," I surrendered. There's nothing to lose anyway.

I hear Phana take a deep breath that sounded like relief.

After sitting for an hour in the car, I finally managed to get out and decided to go inside the gym where prom is happening. I have zero intention of going but Pha and Yo forced me to, well more like, coerced me to. I stare at the side mirror. The pristine suit, my styled hair, the contact lenses; all these cannot hide the sadness that I’m feeling.

My chest still felt heavy at the memory of what happened the other day. Forth was really mad at me. It’s my fault. It’s all my fault. I didn’t know he would be mad, whatever other reason he has, and I didn’t know he would end our friendship just like that. I didn’t even have the chance to explain. I closed my eyes tightly and fought the tears that were threatening to fall. Now we are back to square one. I’ve become nobody again, invisible in his eyes. Just when I thought things could go better between us, even if just as friends.

Slowly opening the door to the gym, I noticed everyone was gathered towards the stage. They were crowning the prom king and queen. Of course, he becomes prom king and Jessie, prom queen. I stepped back away from the crowd and away from the lights. This is where I belong.
