I stand there in the bank as they deposit 50 million dollars into my account.
"Mom."
"Yes."
"Um, I want to give you half of the money because you spent a lot of money on me and Brian." I say as she looks at me. I see her eyes water up. She hugs me so tight I can't breathe.
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yes I'm sure." She pulls apart and tells the banker to split the money. I get on my phone and text Marin.
'Hey gurl just won 50 million dollars!! To Marin'
I don't even get a response from her. Eh, I'll call her to see if we want to go to the mall and haul a heck of stuff. I walk out of the bank and jump into the car. I know this year I'll be going to bea this year. (it's a place where a lot of authors meet up an sign books and give out arcs). I start my new book Jami and Minnie's Marvelous Road Trip. What am I going to do with this money? That question tumbles through my head. The book starts the same as the the first book in the v.v. series. The rest of the ride was a blur. I got out of the car and rushed upstairs to reorganize my bookshelf. I set all the Jen Jennings books by each other. I lay on the bed on slowly but surly I drifted off to sleep.
I wake up. I look out the window and see a black sky thats lit with the moonlight and the street lights. I check my phone to see if Marin texted me back yet. Nothing. Ugh, why hasn't she texted me back. She would've texted me by now. I start to worry. I look at the clock. 9:07. Goodness, I fell asleep at around twelve. I suddenly hear my mothers sobs. Then I hear my dad comforting my mom,
"She's in a better place. She went quickly." My face probably looks puzzled. I rush downstairs and run around the corner to see my Mother balling and my dad slowly crying to.
"Who went? Who's in a better place?" I say shakily. They stay quiet.
"M-M-Marin she died in a car crash." my dad says weakly.
"No I refuse to believe that crap."
"She died around twelve o clock. They think she died texting and driving."
I put the puzzle pieces together. I texted her around twelve and didn't get a response from her. That's why she didn't text me back. I start to hyperventilate and cry.
"I'm sorry," my dad says. She was my first friend I ever had and now she's gone. I rush upstairs and slam the door shut. I dig in my jewelry box. I found it. A bright pink necklace. The charm on it is half a heart. The other half was hers.

I listen to Jack cursing and screaming into the phone.
"SHE CAN'T JUST FRICKN LEAVE US!" he yells.
"I know, I know." I hang up. I've had enough drama today. I want to do something for the family. I lay down clutching the necklace she gave me. Why did she have to leave? My grandmother would say heaven needed a new angel. I plug my ihome into my phone and put on heaven by Beyonce. I listen to the lyrics.
' Cause heaven couldn't wait for you.
No, heaven couldn't wait for you.
So go on go home.'
