(I just want to say, I'm on a train right now in Canada, and it's going fast, so there will most likely be way more mistakes. Also, there was a problem with my electronics, and I almost was not able to post at all, so luckily we fixed it. Anyways, enjoy!)
Peter's POV
After school, I went home, and after eating May's terrible cooking, I asked her if I could go to 'the internship' to work on stuff. She said yes, and I grabbed my stuff.
I really wanted to hang out with Grace. She's been really down lately, and I think she needs a laugh.
When I got to the tower, I headed to her room. I knew she would be in there.
I expected her to be working on her homework or listening to music.
I didn't expect her to be standing in the edge of the balcony.
I ran as fast as I could to her.
I wasn't fast enough.
When I got to the edge, I made my decision.
I jumped.
I couldn't catch up to her though.
I watched her hit the ground.
That will be me in a minute.
I closed my eyes, awaiting the end.
But it never came.
Instead, I felt arms grab me.
It was Mr. Stark.
He lowered me to the ground, and I ran over to Grace.
Tony picked her up, flew back to the tower, and started to run her to the infirmary.
When we got there, Bruce was already ready.
Tony put her down, and I really got to see her.
After an examination, Bruce came over to us.
Bruce had no idea what would happen. She was out cold.
Barely breathing.
I decided to go to her room. I sat on her bed.
That's when I noticed the papers on the floor, addressed to each person on the team.
They were suicide notes.
Goodbyes.
I sighed and went to the living room. Everyone was there.
"I found these in her room."
I passed them out to everyone, and no one had the heart to open them.
No one said a word.
I finally just opened mine.
Dear Peter,
I wish I could say a true goodbye to you, but this is as close as I can get. I will miss you. Our movie nights, waking up early, our talks. I'm so sorry I'm not the person you think I am. My life has been a lie, and I found a way out. When the team found me, I was in the middle of that way. But I wasn't strong enough to make it. Now I am. Say a goodbye to Ned and Mj, I will miss them. Don't change anything about you. Remember this.
-Grace
I was in tears. I didn't know her pain.
Tony's POV
The kid almost died, and Grace could. I sighed, and opened the letter.
Dear Tony,
What to say... I guess thanks. For introducing me to Peter. For giving me a home. Money. Everything. You deserve some truth... when you found me, I was trying to kill myself. I wasn't attacked. I lied to everyone so many times, I couldn't find the truth in my life, it was all a lie. That's why it's better this way. I will miss you.
-Princess
Princess. I put my head in my hands and just sat there.
(I'm just going to start reading the letters and only the letters, just to let you know)
Natasha's POV
Dear Nat,
I haven't had many close friends in my life. Especially that are girls. I'm proud to call you one of mine, and you will be forever. I always knew you saw right through me, but I avoided it. I should have been honest. You deserved it. I hope to see you again.
-Grace
Bruce's POV
Dear Bruce,
Thanks for saving me. I just want to say, although it may not look like it, I understand your situation more than anyone. My advice, stop running, fight. You may not think so, but you are a fighter. I will miss you.
-Grace
Steve's POV
Dear Steve,
I don't know you well, but you're nice. A born leader. I hope that never changes. Remember to be strong. For the team. Even though they won't admit it, especially Tony, they need you. Remember that.
-Grace
Clint's POV
Dear Clint,
Not much to say, except for this. Don't lose your humor. I can tell you have been through a lot. I should know. And it amazes me that you stay on the bright side. The team gets annoyed because of you, but you bring light too. Keep that light, and use it. Please, protect Nat. She needs it, that fun. Please. Do it for me.
-Grace
Peter's POV
When everyone finished, we all just stared at each other.
"She wrote one for the team."
I started to read it.
Dear Team,
Don't let this define you. Don't break down. Don't lock yourself away. Be strong. For me. It's what I want, and wish. Please. Remember me for the me you knew.
-Grace
No one said a word.
Until JARVIS cut the silence.
"Excuse me, Mr. Stark, Ms. Grace is awake."
I jumped up, and ran to the stairs, along with Tony and Bruce. Everyone else took the elevator.
I let Bruce get ahead, he was the doctor.
When we entered the room, Grace was screaming and crying.
I ran up and hugged her. She just continued to cry. The team came in and sat down in the other room. After awhile she calmed down, and I let Bruce make sure she is okay.
I went to the other room. Bruce came in a little while later.
"She's... perfectly fine. It's not realistic, even Tony would have died in his suit."
"Can I talk to her?"
Bruce nodded, and let me in.
She was sitting on the bed, staring outside.
"You know, it really is beautiful. The lights, buildings, it was a perfect place to make peace. I know I lied to you. And I'm sorry. So, let's get to the truth."
