Girl's POV

When I woke up, I panicked. Most places I went were dangerous. I didn't exactly have the best childhood. These people took me here. I remember them from the HYDRA base, it was the only safe place I could go. Safe for others. It wasn't safe here now with me. I needed to get out. Then I realized, they saved my life. Great. My life was about to be a lot easier before they showed up. I stared at them, they looked, okay. They were staring at me, do I say something? I wonder how long I was out. I like the silence though, it was nice, but it let my demons out to play in my head.

These people ruined your plan.

You should kill them.

They'll just ruin everything.

No, I told myself. Finally, they spoke up,

"So what's your name Princess?"

I looked at the guy, I recognized him, he was Tony Stark, the billionaire. He called me... Princess.

"Come here Princess", said a woman.

A little girl ran up and jumped into her arms. They laughed and played till the girl smelled smoke. The mom told her to wait a second and she went to the other room. The woman ran back in and grabbed her daughter.

"What's goin on?," the girl asked.

The woman didn't answer, she just ran up the stairs to the top of the house. The girl looked over her shoulder and saw the flames. The smell became intoxicating, the girl started to cough. The woman looked out the window to see a giant padded area and firefighters telling her to jump. The woman looked down at the girl and told her she needed to jump. The girl looked at her covered in ash, tears in her eyes, terrified. The woman bent down and looked into the girls eyes.

"It's going to be fine Princess, I will be right behind you, I promise."

The girl nodded looked at the woman one last time, and jumped. The girl landed with a thump and after getting off, she looked up, just as the house exploded.

"MOM!!!!," she screamed, trying to run into the house.

A firefighter grabbed her and held her back. Tears flooded her eyes. About two hours later, the house was gone. A car pulled up towards the house. I smiling man exited the car, until he saw the police and firetrucks. He ran to them and saw the burnt house. An officer came up and talked to him. The guys face fell, and he looked over at the girl, with hatred in his eyes.

The people looked at her, concerned. How long was she in thought? It could last for hours sometime.

Tony repeated, "What's your name?"

I looked at them all, I might as well answer.

"Grace."

They looked happy that I started talking.

"So, Grace, mind telling us why we found you in an old HYDRA facility with a knife in you?"

That, my friend is a very long story, that I don't wish to share. What do I say? Ok... time to lie.

"I was captured, and they stabbed me. I guess they chose that place because it was abandoned and no one would ever go there. That's probably why all the supplies were there."

They nodded, but I could tell they didn't believe me.

"Sorry for being rude, let's introduce everyone! This is Steve, this is Clint and Natasha, I'm Tony, that doctor over there is Bruce, and over there is Peter. Keep in mind you're allowed to make nicknames I sure do."

They all rolled their eyes. Peter looked my age. I could tell he was a nerd, just by the way he looked. He was staring at me though, making me feel a little uncomfortable. I was used to being in the back, unnoticed. He was cute, I guess.

"We're also known as the Avengers, and Spiderman."

That's why they looked familiar, they were all over the news. Spider-Man? Guessing that's Peter, since he probably isn't old enough. I've heard about Spider-Man, he's known for helping smaller crimes and things.

"You probably would like a bed and some clothes," said Tony.

I nodded, and stood. I'm guessing they thought I couldn't stand. It was pretty easy, nothing hurts me... anymore. I could tell Bruce didn't agree with what Tony said. Everyone headed to the elevators, where was I? I think Tony could tell what I was saying because he said,

"Were in Avengers Tower."

Avengers Tower? That super tall tower in New York? The elevator opened and Tony led me to a room. He opened the door. The room was huge, a giant bed and bathroom. Clothes were on the dresser, and other things. Tony said to call if I needed anything and left. I walked around the room, it was the best room I've ever had. I decided to shower first. I peeled off my clothes, and stepped in to the hot shower. It felt amazing. When I got out, I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked at me scars and bruises and sighed. I wish I had a normal life. I went and looked at all the clothes in there. I put on a comfy pair of pants and shirt and got in the bed. It was amazingly comfortable, and I fell right to sleep.

I was in a dark big open space. There was nothing in it. That's when I heard a voice.

grace

Grace

GRACE!

The voice was overwhelming. That's when I saw a huge dark figure rise over me.

"There's no escape, everyone you love will die. Your friends can't help you."

The voice wouldn't stop. That's when my dream turned into a nightmare. I looked over my shoulder and there was my father.

"You mean nothing to me, you are a mistake."

I looked back in front of me, and there was young me, watching the house explode over and over again. Then there was a memory of my father locking me in a dark room. Then a memory of the creature I saw when I was five, the dark scary creature. All the darkest memories of my past started replaying. I couldn't take it I started to scream and panic.

"You mean nothing."

"MOM!!!."

"No escape."

"Mistake."

"Freak."

"Monster."

Then I heard a laugh in the back ground. I had my hands over my ears, screaming, then a mirror showed up. I looked at my reflection, then I saw my memories behind me. I closed my eyes. When can this be over!

"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"NO NO NO N...."

"NOOOOOO!"

I woke up with a start, covered in sweat. I could still hear the voices. I looked at the clock, 4 am. I decided to get ready, there's no way I'm going back to sleep. I changed into a jacket and long pants. I didn't want these people to see my scars. Then I would have to explain myself. I brushed my hair and opened the door to leave. The hallway was dark. I thought no one would be up.

I was wrong.
