Lolly & Blondie

Blondie

A week had passed with no interaction with Lolly. I began to doubt myself a little. Did she not like our kiss? Did I make a fool of myself? Thoughts of us circled around my mind and I couldn't get rid of them. I didn't even know Lolly and already found myself becoming attached. I sighed as I leaned onto the table while continuing to play with my food.

"Girl," I looked up to the sound of Rena's voice. "You have to lighten up. I'm sure she'll hit you up later or something."

"Rena later would mean a day at most, not a week," Claire rolled her eyes at Rena before turning to me. "Lolly is known for her reputation as being the number one player. She kisses you, pretends to like you, then she proceeds to smooth talk into your panties. Afterward, she drops you like a hot potato and leaves you to deal with the mess of losing your virginity to the devil."

"It sounds like you speak from experience," murmured Alex and Claire glared at him.

"Shut up Al," Claire told him before she went back to texting on her phone.

"But she didn't get in my pants," I told them quietly and Claire briefly looked up.

"Really? She mostly bags them on the first day. You must've been hard to get."

"That's a good thing," Neeya spoke up and she blinked behind her thick glasses. "It means our new friend here isn't easy. I like that."

"Whatever," Claire rolled her eyes with a dramatic flip of her hair and went back to her phone.

"Anyway, there's supposed to be a carnival coming up this week. Do you want to go? I'm sure it'll take your mind off of the pussy snatcher," Rena asked me and I fought a laugh as I tried to answer her question.

"Thanks, Rena, I would love to."

"Heh. Pussy snatcher is a new one Rena," Alex chuckled which made Rena laugh and a smile to appear on my face. My sad mood was suddenly forgotten.

Days had passed since our talk in the cafeteria and the carnival was finally here. I stood in front of my full-length mirror checking out my outfit. I had on a dark denim jean overall jumpsuit with a white crop top underneath and grey hightop converse. I thought I looked pretty nice for the carnival. Fluffing out my platinum curls, I grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. To my surprise, my dad was here in the kitchen. When he heard me, he turned with a slight smile on his face.

"Hi, honey, where are you off to?" He asked.

"I'm going to a carnival with my friends. What's that in your hand?" I had spotted a big tan envelope that he seemed to try and hide. He cleared his throat awkwardly and brought the envelope in front of him then set it on the counter.

"It's papers from the court," He said and my heart lurched.

Oh.

"What do they say?" I whispered and I could feel my eyes start to moisture as my heart began to panic. My dad made his way toward me and blocked my sight of the envelope. He put both of his hands on my shoulders to try and calm me down.

"Don't worry about it, I am going to fix everything. Now, go have fun. Do you want me to order Thai chicken for dinner later? I have work to do in the office tonight."

"I might eat out with my friends," I told him and blinked back the tears that wanted to fall out. He nodded his head and took a step back. I took that as my cue to leave and right on time I heard a honk outside the house. "Bye dad," I heard no reply as I rushed to leave the house.
