I close my eyes but you keep appearing
Sleep so close, but so far
Sleep is only where you are
I can't sleep
This feeling is one I once knew
One so familiar
I can't help but miss you
And when I close my eyes
I long for your arms
Where I feel at home,
Where I can sleep without fear of harm
But you're not here.
Sleep is emptiness, reminds me of what I'm missing
But it's heaven because you're there without consequence
I can love you without fear
Let's run away together
In our dreams where laws don't exist
Where hate doesn't keep us apart.
But I can't sleep so we go nowhere
A reality so empty it feels wrong
I just want to be in your arms
Where I can sleep.
