I began placing food inside a big duffelbag Sam gave me. Once I was done I zipped the bag shut and swung it around my shoulder. Then off the table I grabbed my bag and swung it around my other shoulder. After every moment pasted the sounds of hyper cars became louder.Tiffany and Justin ran out the front door with their bags loaded.
"Sam Come on!" I yelled through the house.
"I'll be there. I have to start the fire, get out now!" He shouted back and it sounded like he was in the basement. I quickly turned and got out of the house. I saw Justin watching the front door with worry.
"Where is Sam?" He asked looking over at me now.
"Who cares, lets just go." Tiffany butted in.
"Are you serious?!" I yelled at her. She looked at me with a small smile.
"Yeah, we don't need him. He's like a back round person that no one wants."
"Tiffany, Just shut up." Justin said. "If he wasn't here, you wouldn't be alive." Justin slowly walked towards her. "Why are you acting so cold?" He shook his head.
"I just think it's a waist of time." She looked up at him pulling out her bottom lip. "I thought you would think the same."
"Never will I think like that." He turned away and walked up to me with the saddest look. "Is she why you've been acting so wierd the last few days?"
I stood there not knowing what to say. I opened my mouth to say something but I just couldn't.
"I'm sorry. I should of asked you sooner."
"I-it's fine. I should of told you." I looked up at him and smiled lightly. "But know we got to go."
Only seconds later Sam ran out the front door. "RUN!" he yelled. We all bolted to the opposite direction of the cars.
We kept running and it felt like it didn't end. The fire of the house burning fogged the area up and made a nauseating smell. It made me feel light headed and everything became dizzy. I stopped running and sat down next to a tree. I took in a long deep breath. Sam noticed fairly quickly and stopped running. The others did too.
"Are you alright." He asked leaning over me.
"Yeah, just need a moment to rest." I said as I opened up my bag and pulled out a canteen. Taking a couple sips at a time.
"We don't have much time. The fire will spread and when it does we need to be on the other side of the wall."
"What wall?" Tiffany asked. Sam stood up and looked at Justin and Tiffany.
"The only we to get any where near the end of this country we need to cross a wall built a couple miles back from the actual borders. I was going to run everything through with you guys but the people came and I didn't have time."
"But you told her?" Tiffany asked pointing at me in disgust.
"So?" He shrugged at her.
"I feel like we should know too." Tiffany gestured to her and Justin.
"As I said, I was going to tell you." Sam protested.
"Well when did you tell her?" Justin asked.
"The other night when I was taking to her about you." He said pointing to Tiffany. "Why would you threaten her?" Tiffany froze and slowly looked down upon me. My heart sank. She looked pure evil from this angle and the way she was staring at me didn't help. She then looked back at Sam and began to laugh. Her laughter grew louder and more insane. I shot up and stood behind Sam. Justin made his way around her and stood next to us.
"Your all so stupid!" She stopped laughing and looked at us. "So stupid." She smiled. "I just wanted to free like you guys. That's what my brothers and I wanted but now my brothers are gone! My mighty brothers." Oh God.... it can't be. "Alex was the leader, Rickey was like the hunch men, and Henry was just the best back up." ........ it is.
I watched as Sam and Justin began to realize it too. She pulled a gun from her jacket.
"You killed them. You killed all of them!" She yelled flinging the gun around. "It was supposed to be a trap for you two but when we saw the third we had to improvise so I got tied up. You were supposed to buy it till he took your life. Then you just took him out, and dragged me with you. I've been pretending but I'm done pretending!" She pointed the gun at me. "First the brat always in the way."
Time seemed to slow down in front of me. I don't know what to do. It's like my body is on fire all over. My shoulder hurt all over and I could feel the air push against me as I fell backwards. Twigs and leafs crushed underneath the force of my body. My vision began to blur and the only thing I could see was a full moon shining with the stars. As everything turned to black I heard one last thing. My name being yelled my a voice so different. So scared.
