Beast.
Hunter.
Monster.
Her feet pound against the earth,
and she runs for her life.
The beast followed close behind,
his breath leaving a smell of death.
"Please, leave me alone!", She screams,
and her pleas bounce back at her,
echoing off the silent wood.
She sees a cliff face,
and her heart stops.
She's trapped,
like an animal.
She closes her eyes as the monster steps,
closer,
closer,
then stops.
She feels a warm arm wrap around her body,
and she opens her eyes to see the monster,
hugging her.
"Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you."
And he never did.
