The star rests in my hand,
and I smile an empty smile as I throw it into the air.
The silver glints in the night sky before vanishing,
like a diamond on black silk,
and I feel a sudden emptiness fill me.
You said it wouldn't hurt,
you promised that I would be fine.
But I'm not,
I'm broken,
I'm empty,
I'm a moon without a sun.
I'm a night without a day.
I need your glow.
I need that cosmic love.
The fire,
the warmth,
the security,
it's my drug.
Your deep orange hair,
those warm, black eyes,
I need you back in my arms.
I need my knight in shining armour.
I need my cosmic lover.
