My alarm clock woke me up, it was 7:30 in the morning. I turned off the annoying noise and rolled back into bed. I tried falling back asleep, but someone was banging on my door. I got up and went and snwered it.
“Darling! You have to leave in half an hour! Get ready!” My mum said.
“Mum, what are you doing here?” I asked.
“Well, I got your bank account and credit card. Thank goodness I ordered it early! It made the last shipment here, overnight. Here it is!” She handed me a blue credit card that read ‘visa’. It also said ‘US Bank’. Cocky.
“Alright love, I have to go now. Your father knows nothing about this. So its our little secret” She said, with a wink.
“Thank you mum” I said, I hugged her.
“Oh! One last thing. I called ben and asked for your flight information and got you all the tickets.” she said, handing me an envelope.
“Oh mum, you do too much.” I said.
“I want to help. Besides you and Ben are a cute couple.” She said.
“Erm.. Me and Ben aren’t dating mum.” I said.
“For now” She said,
“Well for real now, I got to go” She said. “Keep in contact with me love, alright?”
“Alright mum”
She turned and left, I went back to my room and changed. I wore my blue skinny jeans and my ‘Black Veil Brides’ tank. I was so exited. I went and straightened my hair, teasing it so that it wouldn’t look so flat and dull. I was finishing my eye-liner when I heard a knock on my door.
“Coming!” I shouted.
I ran to the door. Ben stood before me.
“Hey” he said.
“Hi”
“Are you ready?” He asked.
“I always am” I said
“Lets get your stuff!” He said
We went to my room and picked up my bags, He carried them out, while I stayed back. I looked around my room one last time. I grabbed my duffle bag and make-up box and headed out. Ben was waiting for me in the car. My sister was waiting for me at the door. I walked up to her and sighed, slowly handing her the keys to my apartment. She smiled at me and took them, pushing me out and going in herself.
“It’s still my apartment, I’m just letting you take care of it. You better not have any parties, not get my carpet, furniture or walls messy, nothing! I was it spotless just like I left it.” I said.
“Yeah, yeah. Now go!” She said, she closed the door behind her and I took a deep breath. I was already regretting the choice of letting her stay.
I walked over to Ben’s car. I put my duffle bag in the back seat along with his, and my make-up box. I climbed into the passenger seat and took a deep breath.
“You ready?” Ben asked me, placing his hand on my leg. I turned to face him and smiled.
“Yes” I said. I handed him the tickets, he placed them in the little compartment in between the seats. I smiled and we headed out. The drive wasn’t that long, we sat their in silence as I watched the streets I grew up on fly by. I would honestly miss this place. Maybe a little more then I expected. We drove by the mall I always went shopping at, my school, the park. Even the small coffee shop I always went to. I smiled, all the memoirs flooding back. I’d be back soon. So I shouldn’t be so sad.
