بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamualaykum wa rematullah,

I bear witness's that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and the prophet Muhammad saw is the messenger of Allah.

So, Subhanallah, we have had yet again embarked upon such an auspicious occasion:Eid ; a true blessing and mercy of Allah! Whether we nestle ourselves into the depths of our home devouring at our "large selection" (note the sarcasm) of kebabs and somosas or we have the privilege of venturing out with our family, either way, we are in some respect celebrating this great occasion.

How lucky we are to have this day fall upon us!

Yet, when this time of celebration comes, little thanks is given to Allah swt.

Throughout this great time of happiness and comfort and joy, we should be thanking Allah, showing gratitude towards him, praising him for the abundant bounties he has drowned you with that you and I don't even realise.

Let's be real, what have you done that is worth jannah? What have you done to deserve abundant happiness? This may sound quite morbid but you and I know how true the answers are; very very very little have we done to attain any happiness from Allah and moreover at these times of celebration; whether it's eid or a wedding or a party, either way the happiness and enjoyment of ourselves is far more important than the happiness of our creator.

Yet, hidden in the midst of society are the abd of Allah swt, the ones who put the happiness and pleasure of Allah swt in the forefront of their minds. Who see worship as a mercy of Allah and no matter what may happen in their life, they face to sujood in complete thanks of Allah swt.

And it seemed that, on the day of Eid , this had finally hit home to me.

It seemed that in the day of rejoice and celebration, the obligation of the eid salah gives a large indication of the importance of the remembrance of Allah on this day and subhanallah children of all ages, young and small, old and wise were brought together; people who have never touched the masjid were brought in unison with the true place that they have long forgotten.

Yet when the imam ends the Salaah, and hugs are exchanged, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and isha are out of question. It seems that the only Salaah needs to be prayed is the eid and Khalas, finish.

As we rush back home at the selection of sweets and food and food and more food, time becomes a unwanted and unimportant phenomenan, an untouchable reality that we wish to forget at this time of rejoice.

Time, the importance of it and it's finite reality is what we forget.

Death can wait, our Qabr (grave) can wait is what we are told by shaytaan on this day.

It's remembrance halted.

And if not so, the importance of time is not valued.

Every second, every minute contributes to our hereafter; how have we used this time?

If we continuously celebrate, unaware of the HARAAM and

Hallal, unaware of the prayer time passing by then we have got ourselves in a heap of a mess.

On Eid day itself, I had passed multiple multiple multiple Masaajid during zuhr and Asr time and the only people who were walking into the masjid and out of the masjid were indefinitely men over the age of 50 probably 60 to be more realistic; most with walking sticks, another disabled old man who used the

Disabled railing entrance to come Into the masjid on the day of eid.

What does that show?

Where was the 14 year old hafiz?

Where was the group of teens that swear that they are practicing Muslims?

Where were the parents with their children from Eid Salaah?

It seemed that the day of eid has brought this issue up but you and I know that this goes on everyday, not only with Salaah.

The remembrance of Allah is neglected; the title of the Abd of Allah is neglected by many on any day of happiness. Should that be the case?

Instead of leaving on a negative note, I shall proceed on a positive.

As youth, as people of Islam, as Muslims, what can we do to enhance ourselves and discover the fault in our hearts?

We need to change and I hope that has come through.

We need to make the remembrance at the forefront of our everyday lives.

We either do it now

Or remain in regret
