Avengers Tower
Hours Later
"I just don't understand." Steve Rogers states while holding his hand in the air. "We buried our daughter last week!"
"She was standing on the fire escape!" Peter cries while throwing his hands in the air. "And crying!"
"Who is this again?" Natasha inquires while tipping her head to the side.
"I'm Peter." He replies while extending his hand, which she awkwardly shakes in return. "Spiderman...wait you weren't supposed...nevermind."
"Are you sure you saw her?" Sam questions, trying to bring the topic back on hand. "Grief does that to people, it makes them see things that aren't there sometimes."
"It was her." Friday's robotic voice rings through the room. "Heat signature matches, I've been trying to track her since the window."
"So you're saying our daughter is alive?" Steve breathes. "Somewhere out there?"
"I think so," Tony mumbles while wiping away a stray tear. "But she looked different, Steve, older? Broken? I'm not sure."
"Well, fighting robots for the first time can do that to a person," Wanda mumbles with a small shrug. "Isn't that right Pietro?"
"Yes." The speedster nods his head quickly. "I'm sure she's still traumatized."
"Okay, so we find her," Clint announces. "Before Nick Fury, before Hydra, before anyone! Especially the media."
"I'm a criminal." Steve shakes his head while stepping back. "I can't just-"
"I'm Tony Stark." Tony interrupts while swallowing the lump in his throat. "Ross can kiss my ass, this is Abby we're talking about. She is way more important than some Government threat."
"Global." Peter clears his throat. "It was a global threat."
US Cellular Store
Somewhere In New York
"Just for a minute," Abby whispers while inserting a USB into one of the phones that sit around the store. Her suit had 'folded' back up into her pocket, leaving Abby in jeans and a long sleeved shirt. She was in one of the many stores that lined the streets and was hoping that she'd be able to find a way to contact home, thankfully this store was packed with customers.
Abby stares at the device as different numbers fly across the screen, eventually, it glitches out before Max is sitting in front of her. It's obvious that the lab tech doesn't notice Abby at first as his eyes were solely focused on a different monitor in front of him.
"I'm not sure where she was sent," Max grumbles to himself before sliding towards a different computer.
"Max!" Abby hisses, causing the boy to jump out of fear.
"Abby? You're alive!" Max cries while wheeling closer to her. "Holy crap! Where are you?"
"I was about to ask you that, dipshit!" She hisses. "I'm dead here, as in Ultron dead. I've already been spotted by Peter and Tony as well as whoever else is out there! You have to pull me back!"
"Here's the thing." Max awkwardly clears his throat. "When you went through this morning, something happened to the machine, it's completely destroyed."
"You're lying." Abby scoffs. "I can't stay here with most of the world on the lookout for the ghost of Tony and Steve's daughter! I bet they don't even know who Carol is yet!"
"Just take a deep breath." Max orders. "We're working on it as fast as we can. We've already succeeded partly because you and I are talking, so we're not completely lost just yet."
"Max, stop rambling." Abby orders while surveying the store to make sure no one had noticed her yet. "I need to get out of here, the sphere isn't here and I'm not talking to anyone! It's hard enough seeing them."
"Well, actually, how do you know the sphere isn't there?" Max inquires. "You've only been there for a short time, right?"
"Max!" Abby cries but quickly clears her throat to avoid awkward stares.
"We're working on it, you're just going to have to wait it out, Abby, there's nothing I can do." Max shakes his head.
"Great, so I'm putting this dimension through the trauma all over again," Abby grumbles. "You know, that was my one request to not do during this mission. I didn't want others to feel the way I do."
"Abby, I'm sorry." Max glitches again, the signal slowly fading. "Just hang on, we'll get you-"
Whatever signal Abby had scrapped together disappears in an instant, leaving a very frustrated girl in the middle of a very crowded space. Slowly, Abby takes her USB and watches it reattach itself back to her suit via nanotech from her father. She releases a breath and turns away from the phone, checking to see if anyone was truly watching. Abby is about to leave the store when the monitor in the corner, that had been playing some kids show, changes to another breaking news segment.
"This is Kelly Marcus reporting live from Avengers Tower." The black haired woman greets. "We've just been informed that the Avengers as a whole have gone rogue. New developing rumors are circling around about the cause of such a thing, most speculation points to none other than the new Spiderman that they've been working with. Has he or she really changed the Avengers prospectives on the accords? As more details develop, I'll update you all. For now, this is Kelly Marcus signing off."
"Thank you, Kelly," Abby mumbles under her breath. "Now I know that I have completely and utterly fucked up this world. It hasn't been a day."
With that, Abby stuffs her hands into her jean pockets and quickly merges into the crowd outside. She didn't really know where she could go, there really wasn't anyone around anymore and if they were, Abby didn't know if they even lived in the same homes as her dimension people did.
Abby stops in the middle of the sidewalk as her brain starts to come up with several answers to the different problems running through her mind. Finally, after avoiding an angry patron to her right, Abby clicks on her glasses once more.
"Edith? I need you to find the address of James Buchanan Barnes."
