Alison sat at the little window in her room gazing at the moon that shone brightly on the cold summers night.

It was very unusual for it to be cold in the summer but that was the least of her worries at the moment. Her eyes held a deep sorrow and unshed tears which was starting to blur her vision. Alison felt one emotion that nobody loves feeling.

Guilt.

Two years ago on the very same day something happened that changed everything and it wasn't for the better.

Alison wanted peace. She stood up from the place she spent hours in and exited her room making her way to the front door of her house. As she passed the living room she caught a glimpse of Jocelyn. Jocelyn was the girl who helped her when the tragedy happened. How she found her? nobody knows. Luckily she was asleep.

Alison walked out of the house for the first time in two years and emotions hit her like a huge wave. She stared into the path leading into the tree's.

Her house was situated really deep in a woods with many trees and animals.

In that moment she knew that she had to do this. If she wanted at least one bit of sanity she had to make peace.

Alison ventured down the dark path that she hasn't seen in a while. Each step she took she felt as if her heart was about to jump out of her chest. Her feet carried her deeper and deeper until she saw the familiar surroundings. That very same tree was still there but not the one thing she has looking for.

There was no trace of anything. It was almost as if nothing had ever happened at the spot.

The huge pine trees rustled in the chilly breeze. The memories flashed through her mind making her stumble back slightly bumping her back against a tree trunk.

The screaming.

The blood.

and the guilt there after.

Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to come here but she had to do it. Why? she was not quite sure because she wanted peace but it seemed to have upset her further.

Alison sat down and admired the nature around her, yes she couldn't see very well since it was dark but still.

A movement behind her made her jerk her head around only to be met by a beautiful elk.

She didn't want to disturb it because this could have been the animals home so she stood up and backed away slowly. The elk took a bold step towards her then nuzzled into her hand that she was holding up. Alison was shocked to say the least. An animal wouldn't trust someone  that easily.

She smiled for the first time in a really long time and it wasn't a forced one but a true smile.

That moment ended when in  one quick movement almost as if something scared it ,the elk took off running in the opposite direction.

Alison sighed deeply. She decided that it was time to go back home.

The dark sky was lit up by a million stars that looked like fireflies. You could hear  the crickets chirping and some animals here and there that were awake. They all were so dependent on one another yet they did not know that.

Alison hasn't used her abilities for two years. She wondered if she still could.

She thought deeply on what she could at least try then it popped up, a thing her mother taught her when she was younger.

Alison positioned herself on the grass and closed her eyes.

She felt nothing, but when she reopened her eyes there was water floating around her with small flowers and shrubs along with it.

The girl was amazed because it was the first time she actually got it completely right.

She gasped when something came out of the shadows she never expected to see and it wasn't the elk. This was something her mother warned her about.
