Quote of the chapter
"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life. It goes on."
– Robert Frost
It might have been obvious but might not have been, it has been a year since Annabeth's death.

Percy ran after his angry cousin, till he matched their strides.
"How was it?" Percy asked.
"Fine, I was just writing lines." Harry said through gritted teeth.
"Oh that isn't terrible." Percy responded but let the conversation drop, as both cousins fell into a comfortable silence. Harry thinking about what he would do to Umbridge if he ever got the chance.
Percy, on the other hand, was in a deep conflicted thought with having almost kissed Luna. Annabeth had just died, he can't be seeing other girls! But on the other hand being at Hogwarts the two had gotten closer, Luna was the only one to understand him about camp and everything else that went horribly wrong in his life.
He knew that he couldn't try to replace Annabeth, she was irreplaceable plus Percy didn't want to replace her she was his best friend and a kick in the ass.
She was the love of his life.
Still he couldn't deny that he did almost kiss Luna, and he felt comfortable around her.
Percy didn't realise the time until he ran right into the Fat Lady.
"Watch where you are going young man." The woman yelled.
"I am so sorry." Percy muttered. He felt like he ran into a brick wall, and when he looked up he saw a lady in a portrait glaring down at him.
"It is fine. What is the password?"
"Uhm, I don't know?" Percy asked.
"Then you cannot enter the house." The lady said sternly, lifting her nose high in the air.
"Please, let him in. He is my cousin and he is a Gryffindor." Harry stated, hiding his left hand from Percy.
"Password?" The lady said as she looked at Harry.
"Athena's blue underpants." Harry said confidently.
Percy's mouth dropped open and stared at Harry with wonder, before bursting out laughing as the door swung open. Percy couldn't stop giggling as he entered the door, as Ron and Hermione were on the couch talking seriously before they popped up.
The two stared at Percy with confusion as the young man wouldn't stop giggling and muttering. "Dads going to love this."
Their attention quickly turned to Harry with worry. "Are you OK, Harry? We've heard about Umbridges detention is torture."
Subconsciously Harry grabbed his left hand but Hermione noticed, the brunette rushed forward faster than Harry could react and grabbed his hand twisting it so the back of his hand was facing her and she pushed his robes back. Showing a blotchy red irritated back of his hand with the words written on Harry's hand. 'I must not tell lies.'
"That is illegal." Hermione said still holding Harry's hand
Percy stopped laughing and looked at his cousins hand before gaining a murderous look. He began walking out the door but felt a hand on his bicep, the hand let go right away as Percy pulled away roughly. He left to give Umbridge a piece of his mind.
He heard shouts of his name but he only saw red, no one hurts his family and got away with it.
"Percy?" A quiet, disappointed voice said from his right, it was so heartbroken that Percy was brought out of his rage and glanced to his right.
Luna Lovegood stood staring at her crush and savior with hurt.
"Luna, what are you doing out still?" Percy asked softly.
Luna blushed and looked down. "I was thinking, I thought I ruined our friendship so I was on my way to Gryffindor to apologise."
"Luna, I am your friend forever. Loyalty is my fatal flaw." Percy responded.
"I know that Percy, but when we almost kissed I just thought you presumed I was trying to take Annabeth's place." Luna said softly.
Percy stared at his friend. "Luna look at me." The blonde shyly raised her head, blue met green. "I like you, I really do. But I just don't think I am quite ready for more right now. But I want to stay friends, and who knows maybe something more might come out of this but I just can't right now, I hope you understand."
Luna stared at Percy making him worry for a bit, but the daughter of Hecate smiled before pecking Percy on the cheek. "I understand that Percy, I am not going to wait around forever but friends I can do."
With that Luna, left Percy staring at her retreating form not remembering why he was so upset anyway before heading back to the Gryffindor common room. Giggling again as he said the password, he walked in when he saw the three of them staring at him wide eyed.
"What? Is that toad behind me?" Percy asked.
"How are you still alive, mate?" Ron asked in wonder.
Percy adopted a look of confusion. "I mean I was safe the entire time?"
Hermione rolled her eyes and opened her mouth to talk but Harry beat her to it. "Percy, I wanted to keep this in a private battle of wills between her and I and you ruined it. Now she will know that I will go blabbering about anything."
Percy looked at his cousin weirdly. "I didn't blabber about anything."
"You didn't see Umbridge?" Harry demanded.
Percy shook his head and a slight blush appeared on his face. "Nope, I ran into Luna and was talking to her and I got distracted and just came back here."
Harry nodded deep in thought before Ron blurted out. "Why were you talking to Loony Luna?"
Percy narrowed his eyes at the red head before saying. "Luna is my friend, you are to Ron but you will never say a bad thing about that girl again."
Ron gulped in fear before nodding, Hermione asked. "Percy how would you like it if Harry taught you defense against the dark arts? Since Umbridge can't or won't do it."
Percy grinned as Harry gulped. "I would love that but right now it is time for bed." With that Percy turned to walk up some stairs.
"Percy that is the gi-" Hermione tried saying but the stairs turned into a slide making Percy face plant on to the ground and slide down.
"That was the girls dorm, you can't get up there." Hermione finished as she stifled a laugh at the groan of pain Percy emitted.
"Noted." Percy said rubbing his nose as he went to the other stair case and found his bed, Trident was sitting there in his cage. Percy went to give the owl a pet but stopped as he noticed a note in his talons.
"What do you have boy?" Percy murmured as he grabbed the note and opened it up.
Dear Perseus,
It has been a year since my daughters death, I know we haven't seen eye to eye a lot of the time but after you falling into the pit with her I know there was nothing that you wouldn't have done for my most favoured daughter. I had wished to give you my blessing to be with her but the Fates had other ideas. So this owl will protect you from any foe, I have also asked Hecate about the wizards and celestial bronze will harm them.
Be safe,
Athena.
Percy shut the note and took a shuddering breath to calm his nerves before he gave Trident a pat on the head, recieving a sad hoot in response as he laid in bed.
