The question that changed my life

chapter nine.

After eating Jake forced me to take a shower first before leaving, I took a shower and came out to wear the clothes I wore, I saw a black and a grey sweat pants on the bed, I wore it, then combed my hair, now I looked more presentable.

I came downstairs and sat near Jake.

Jake thank you for everything you've done for me, I think it's time for me to take my leave, I said.

What? No stay for a while, am not chasing you away, neither am I complaining, or am I not treating you well enough, Jake asked.

No, it's not that, it's just, I need sometime alone, am going through somethings, I replied.

Why, you want to go back home and be all depressed and lonely, then drown yourself in dozens of alcohol? I can't let you do that, and besides if you want to have some alone time my house is big enough, you'll get bored eventually, jake said.

Jake you don't understand, I replied.

Please just stay for today, I promise to make today one of your best day ever. I cancelled all my appointments today, being all alone at home is really boring, please just stay, Jake pleaded.

Alright I will, but that's if you promise I won't sleep over, I requested.

Sure thing, I promise, your going to have the time of your life, Jake said smiling.

I just smiled at Jake, he's such a nice person, I can't believe I didn't see how nice and caring he was. I was so cruel to him, I guess what's happening to me is called karma, for everything I've done to him and other people at school then.

Victoria, Victoria Williams, Jake called me bringing me out of my thoughts.

Yeah, I said.

You were lost in your thoughts again, come on let's leave, he said picking his car key and held my hand and then lead the way out.

So where are we going to? I asked.

We are going to the park, he replied without taking his eyes of the road.

The park? Why the park, aren't we too grown for that? I asked jake.

No we are not, now shuu less talking and more fun, he replied.

We arrived at the park, there were lots of people there. I immediately sighted a cotton candy stand, I hurriedly pulled Jake over there.

Jake can we get a cotton candy please, I asked.

Sure, you don't even have to ask, I know how much you love them  ice cream and pizza too, he said.

You still remember what I love eating? I asked in disbelief.

Yes I do, he replied with a smile.

I just stared at him, the way he changed, gosh he's so handsome, I can't even explain it, those huge glasses he wore back then hid his blue eyes, I could literally stare at them forever, and the way he smiled it was amazing. My eyes drifted to a toy stand, I kept staring at a pink huge bear teddy, I didn't know Jake was staring at me.

You like it, he asked me.

Huh,  I replied confused.

Do you like the teddy, he asked.

I guess, not really, I answered.

Come on, he said while dragging me to the toy stand.

He tried wining the toy a couple of times but failed.

Don't worry Jake, I don't really want the toy, I said..

I'll win it this time Victoria, trust me, he replied.

You've been saying that for the 15th time now and yet nothing, I said.

This time is different, he replied.

He played again and this time he won the toy, I was so happy that I hugged him, he hugged me back, we were in each others arms for a couple of seconds, before we separated awkwardly, there was just something about the hug that I can't explain, I had a weird feeling in my stomach and a part of me liked it.

When we were done, we went on so many rides, Jake was so scared at first but became use to it, it was really fun, I forgot all my problems.

It was getting dark so I asked Jake to take me home. Jake pleaded for me to stay at his place for the night, I rejected at first but he kept insisting so I agreed.

We arrived at Jake's house, we ate, freshened up and we both were sitting in my room and laughing our hearts out.

How did you go from nerd to a billionaire, I asked, not wanting to say hot billionaire.

Well I still believe am a nerd, it's my neediness that made me who I am, he replied.

Well you don't look nerdy to me, you look....jake interrupted me.

Different, I know, I work out in the gym a lot. After highschool I told myself I wouldn't be that really thin boy with the glasses and braces, I started wearing contact lens, and hitting the gym like four times a week. When I got into college I was kinda like the hottest kid there, trust me I was surprised, but I didn't still let it distract me from my studies, he said.

Wow, you must have really had an amazing time at college, I said.

Yes I did. Tell me, how did you and Blake end up, he asked.

Well after highschool, he became more of a jerk, partying a lot, smoking and drinking, he even got lots of tattoos back then, the worst of it all he cheated on me  multiple times, I had enough of it, so we broke up. I replied.

Wow that's sad, I thought you guys would end up together, you both were like the perfect couple and every other couple wanted to be like you both, you both literally won prom king and queen, you and Blake were like the Kim and Kanye of our time, he said.

I giggled.

Oh please, we weren't, it was just high school stuff, we didn't know anything, I said while yawning.

I guess your tired now, good night, he said before walking out.

Good night, I replied.
