"INK!!!" Error screeched furiously as he created a glitch portal into the world of AUs, where Ink watched over each thin sheet of paper, each one an Alternate Universe. Error shivered as more of the blue stuff leaked from his eyes like tears, and scowled. He surveyed the white, empty room, adorned with only the sheets of paper. Ink was nowhere to be seen; he must be inside one of the AUs.

"Hmmm," Error murmured to himself as he draped his red and yellow skeletal hands over the sheets. An idea was already forming in his head. Curiously, he tried to shove his hand through the paper, then growled when it didn't work.

Numbers appeared on the paper.

They must be the coordinates for this AU's starting point, Error thought, absentmindedly. He was about to create a portal when he heard a voice resonate out behind him. Error froze at the sound, his blood running cold, and spun around in surprise.

"Error? Whatcha doing here?" Ink asked curiously.

Error smirked, then his eyes flicked up and down Ink, and registered that something was very wrong. His face fell into a frown, his eyes darkening, mostly because he was annoyed that he couldn't joke about this.

Ink was staggering about, sifting through the AUs with one hand, and the other clutched his side. As Error looked closer, he could see Ink's weird rainbow blood seeping through his fingers and clothes. There were a few darker marks on his skull too, like bruises, and something was trickling out of the side of his mouth.

Then Error remembered why he had come to find Ink in the first place. He tried to speak, but his mouth had gone dry. He cleared his throat, and Ink shot him a backward, impatient glance.

"Look, I'm kinda busy right now, so if you don't mind--" Ink began when Error still didn't talk.

Finally he managed to choke out, "Did you create a new AU??"

Ink hesitated before replying in an odd tone, "No,"

"Our truce," Error reminded him, smiling slyly and waving his finger back and forth. Ink inhaled sharply, beginning to tremble.

"Truce? I don't remember making any truce with you," Ink sneered, still rifling through the AUs.

Error rolled his eyes and crossed the empty space between them. "No more creation, no more destruction. Anyway, need some help? What are you lookin' for?"

Ink paused, then explained. "There's an AU somewhere here where Snowdin has this epic potion shop ran by Alphys. She was a healer instead of a scientist."

"I thought your magic giant pencil-thingybob could heal you," muttered Error as he began to file through the Alternate Universes. If you look close enough, there was writing about each character. He just needed to find the one that said Alphys was a healer.

Ink shook his head and blinked, his pupils changing from blue and yellow to pink and green. Error still wondered how his pupils worked. Did they just randomly change colour, or was it something to do with Ink's feelings or choice?

"Wait a second, I think I found it," Error piped up, seeing the words Alphys and healer beside each other on a page. He pulled it closer and read the text.

Ink tried to snatch it out of his hand, but Error smirked and held it just out of his reach. "Not so fast,"

"Error--" Ink growled, in a warning tone.

Smugly, Error grinned and waved the paper about above his head. "Why are you hurt?"
Ink frowned. His pupils became purple and white, then blue and yellow again. He tightened the hoodie at his waist with one bony hand, then took a deep breath. "I got in a fight,"

"Well yes, I guessed, but with who? Usually, nobody can land a hit on you," Error pointed out.

Unexpectedly, Ink jumped for the paper, reaching out with his free hand, scowling with determination. Error dodged deftly and pulled a blue string from his cheek, hooked it around the sheet threateningly. "I'll rip it,"

Ink sighed in defeat and fell back. "I wasn't expecting it. An Asgore from another world, infused with determination. He ambushed me,"

"Lies." Error snarled. He didn't trust Ink one bit, and their normally jokey manner was disrupted.

Ink looked away, clearly annoyed. His free hand reached up behind him for his giant paintbrush, and Error braced himself for a fight. He wouldn't actually destroy the AU, that would break their truce, but he could hook it to another and hold it as leverage.

"C'mon Error, just let me into the AU." Ink tried, one last beg. "Please?"

Sternly, Error shook his head.

And Ink lunged.
