Overwhelmed

After the battle, Ink had gone back to the AU where Error had killed Alphys and Undyne, to try and raid their closed down store. Error had gone back to his own AU, and found that it was still inhabited by Fresh, so he tied the skeleton in blue string and shoved him through a portal into Ink's AU space.

Before sitting down and trying to enjoy a movie version of his favourite show, like he had been doing before, Error fingered through his DVDs for one that would please him. Shrek, The Life of W.D. Gaster, Frozen... nah. All of a sudden, Error found a photo mixed in with the DVDs. He pulled it out and held it up to the light, then studied it curiously.

It was a picture of him and Ink. Ink was grinning and looking at the camera, with his arm happily slung over Error's shoulders, whereas Error himself was looking away sulkily. He had his arms folded over his ribcage and wore a grumpy scowl.

Feeling like it was special somehow, Error placed it on the cabinet in front of his sofa, the one that held the TV. It was bare apart from the small black screen, and now the photograph.

"Hmph," Error grumbled as he finally found a good DVD and slotted it in. It began to play, but time and time again, Error caught his gaze straying to the photo, and every time he had to correct himself.

It was tiring.

...

The next day, Error was bored, so he decided to wander around the AUs, cause havoc, that sort of thing. Maybe even wound one or two people. No killing though.

He strode into the Underground of Flowerfell. Frisk and FF Sans would both be dead, but his brother FF Papyrus wasn't. In fact, he would probably be pretty sad, which was the perfect opportunity for Error to destroy him. He hated all the various Sans'es, and their brothers were normally worse.

"Papyrus!" he called, grinning evilly. The tall skeleton turned around slowly, saw Error, and let his face fall. He still wore Sans's scarf around his neck.

"What do you want?" Papyrus asked shyly. "Who are you?"

"The name's Error, and I want to destroy all AUs,"

Ink caught Error being cruel to the Flowerfell Papyrus before he could do any real damage. The black skeleton was dragged away by his scarf, and was screaming in protest, although he couldn't be bothered to fight Ink. Not today.

Ink took the dishevelled skeleton into his AU space. The sheets of paper around them wavered slightly in the wind made from Error's struggling. He finally wiggled free of the purple paint that tied up his limbs and Ink let go of his blue and black scarf.

"What were you doing?" Ink said nastily. "Can't you just be good for once?"
"Nah, being good is boring. And if you didn't figure it out, I was provoking Paps," Error simpered.

The other skeleton seemed exhausted as he collapsed on the ground, sitting cross-legged with his hands in his lap. He fiddled with his vials, all still full of the emotions, except for one - the one that Error had broken. Although the vial was still attached, there was no liquid inside of it.

"Just go back to your AU and watch Undernovela or something. I've got more important stuff to do," Ink got up, still looking tired out, and drew a bluebell-coloured paint splash on the ground.

"Rude," Error muttered as he made his own glitching portal to his own AU.

...

"¡No hay piscina en el mercado!"

Error had been watching Undernovela like Ink had said for about an hour, when a massive explosion came from the entrance to his world. Error paused the episode and stood up, creating a large black gaster blaster above his head, ready to blast the intruder into tomorrow.

But it was Ink.

And something was definitely going on.

He stumbled forward, looking almost drunk, with an elated expression on his face. He was hurt in a few places, but nothing serious like before. Half of his vials were smashed or missing, and all were empty apart from a few sunflower yellows, ruby reds and sunset pinks. Those ones were half full, like Ink had just downed half of them while he still could.

"Error!" he screeched cheerfully, and flung his arms around Error's neck.

"Erm, Ink, what the hell is going on?" Error quizzed, his expression nothing but confused. He tried to pry Ink's skeletal fingers off of his shoulders, but he just wouldn't let go.

Ink giggled. "I was looking for you. I want to do something," his voice was strangely high-pitched. He wasn't himself.

"You drank too much of those emotions. They're overwhelming," Error realised aloud.

"I've wanted to do this for a long time, but my other emotions stopped me," Ink told him, completely oblivious to the fact that Error was trying to shove him away. "But now there's nothing holding me back, and I want to do it while I still have the courage," he voice broke off into a stream of joyful, childlike giggles.

"Please don't, whatever it is," Error flinched, expecting to be punched in the face or hit with the strange burning paint again, or something.

He certainly wasn't expecting what came next.
