Ready for it, Error sidestepped and tugged at the blue string connected to the AU that Ink wanted. He needed the coordinates to make a portal or teleport, which meant that he would have to touch the AU first. Error hoisted it up out of his reach, high in the air, then kicked Ink in the stomach.

Ink ducked around his leg and launched himself at the glitching black skeleton. Error fell backwards, then wrapped Ink in blue string from his eyes and cheeks. Ink lay on top of him, struggling to break free of the string. Error rolled out from underneath him and grinned.

Eventually, Ink broke free, and used his paintbrush to try tying Error up, like he had done many times before. Swiftly, Error glitched backwards just a little so that he was out of reach of the coloured bristles. He began to create glowing purple bones to attack, and they shot at Ink like bullets or arrows.

They missed, and when he created a gaster blaster, Ink just used his paintbrush to create a shield. Error made a circle of them, the black animal skulls with glowing pupils in their black, shadowed sockets, and they blasted beams of energy at Ink, who painted a black ball of paint around him as defense.

Error sighed in frustration as he made the gaster blasters disappear. He was a little more tired out now, which sucked because he dealt no damage.

The white skeleton just kept coming again and again. He tried to get higher, closer to the AU, but Error wouldn't let him get near. He did shield after shield, and tried the bonds paint multiple times, although it wouldn't work. Ink looked serious, but Error smiled happily for the whole fight, despite the beads of sweat that trickled slowly down his forehead.

Ink finally managed to teleport behind Error while he was paying more attention to his gaster blasters, and snatched the AU out of the air. Error scrunched up his nose, glaring at Ink for his defeat, and started forward.

Ink studied the coordinates that had come up on the paper, but he was swaying unsteadily. His eyes were crossing and uncrossing like he was dizzy, and it looked like he was struggling to stay upright. The blood seemed to be seeping more heavily into the fabric of his shirt.

"Erm... Ink?" Error mumbled warily. He edged a little closer cautiously.

Ink's heterochromatic eyes flicked up, and his gaze fell upon Error. His eyes were full of concern, surprise, and one word: help.

Ink crumpled to the floor.

Instinctively, Error teleported forward and caught him. Ink was an unconscious heap in Error's arms, and when he realised that, Error almost dropped the skeleton to the ground. Except then he decided not to, because that might hurt him more.

Ink's head lolled to the side and he began to drool. "Ew," Error remarked, glaring down at his lifeless body.

The coordinates were still visible on the paper, so Error decided that he might as well take Ink to Alphys. It seemed kind of stupid, but Ink's rainbow blood was now all over Error, and he needed to use someone's washing machine.

He made a portal and entered the AU.

...

Error stepped out into a sunlit surface village, where humans and monsters lived together peacefully. The black skeleton lugged Ink's heavy body towards the small, meek-looking shop that had a big sign on the side that read, 'Alphys and Undyne's Chemist'.

He went to the counter, managing to create a trail of Ink's multi-coloured blood all over the floor. A monster customer was already inside of the shop, browsing through some potions, but when they saw Error they fled in terror. The glitching skeleton couldn't help but shoot him a cheeky grin as he left.

Alphys, the small, nervous, yellow scientist, came out from behind the counter with a scared squeak. "Ink! W-what happened t-to h-him?"

"Dunno," Error shrugged, dumping Ink on the clean counter. He could just imagine Ink's annoyed face as he saw how carelessly he was treating him, and almost laughed. A new feeling spread through him, something strange and new and unusual. Error shook it off, it was different, and he didn't like it.

"W-what can I d-do?" Alphys whined in that stammering voice of hers. She pushed her glasses up her short nose.

Error shrugged again. "Welp, you're the healer here. How would I know?"

Alphys shuddered. "B-but what if I m-mess up?"

Oh, she never changed, Alphys.

"Just try, he can't get much worse. Being the loser that Ink is, he won't mind if you fail, and frankly, I don't care." sighed Error offhandedly. He looked away, his expression bored.

Alphys hesitated, then mumbled, "I-if you didn't c-care, then why did you bring h-him here?"

He had no answer.
