August

"Let's go Ace." I smirked, deciding to take him on another jog this morning just to test my luck on seeing ole girl.

It may be a little weird but I just wanna get to know her. I think I'll ask for her number this time. That's if I see her.

Barking, Ace wagged his tail out excitement of seeing the out doors as I opened the the front door for us.

"Aight calm down boy." I said ruffling the hair on top of his head.

I grabbed the things I'd need for Ace, along with my phone and air pods.

I started to jog with him thinking I should probably start to getting back into shape, since I was already winded from two minutes of jogging. Looking around a bit I tried not to be noticeable and look like a creep but kept on with my jogging since I didn't spot her anywhere. Making it around to corner I sighed in disappointment then scolded my self in my head for being so desperate anyway. Just after that thought I was passing by a Starbucks and happened to glance over at the glass doors. Through those doors I saw a sexy figure sitting at the bar. I knew it was her because she whore the same Nikes yesterday and who wouldn't notice that body and beautiful complexion.
Rolling my eyes at the 'NO PETS' sign on the window I went a little further down the street and let Ace do his business.

"Maybe another time huh, Ace?" I said after I threw away his waste as he tilted his head at me. "Awe don't look at me like that. I'm not sad okay." I sighed and looked away from him. I swear this dog could be so judgmental at times.
I kept in down the street but stopped in my tracks after hearing a light voice.

"Hey! August right?" I turned around to see her standing the shop with a coffee cup in each hand.
Smiling lightly I tired hard not to show the amount of excitement in my body.

I walked over and nodded at her question. "Absolutely, Love. How are you today?" I asked

"I'm great I see you probably wanted to come in but the girl was just telling me they recently had to ban animals because of some weird incident." She spoke a little fast but I was able to keep up. "But anyway I went ahead and got you this I figured we could maybe get to know each other since I'm just in my way home this time." She smiled up at me handing me the Starbucks cup.
I could only smile back at her and take the cup as I thanked her. She was literally riding the same wave as me and I loved it.
"Oh I figured you'd probably like black coffee. Most men do. It's not straight black, they added a little bit of sugar."
I tasted it and smiled in satisfaction. "This is perfect. How can I repay you? I hate that you went out of your way to do that for me." She blushed and gave me the answer I needed.

"How about you just walk me home and leave me with something to keep in contact, huh?"
"I can do that." I answered with a nod.
"Great." She smiled.
"So where are you from? I noticed your accent." I asked her, dying to know her culture.

"Nigeria." She smiled

"I love how you embrace your culture. I can see it in every thing you wear." I gestured at her outfit and colorful wrap on her head.

"My mother will never let us forget to love ourself and our country. I guess it's just the way I was raised." She shrugged. "Are you from here?" She asked referring to LA.
"Nah I I was born and raised in New Orleans , Louisiana."
