[Song Yuqi POV]

Don't be nervous Yuqi. You can do it. This audition is going to be faster than you think. Don't stress out. Then the time came. "And next is.... Song Yuqi", said the agent. I walked into the dance room. They asked for me to sing. Thankfully I didn't voice crack. Then they asked me to dance. I did a few moves, and thankfully didn't mess up. And that was it! The audition was over. I went home, only to be greeted by my parents who comforted me and congratulated me. I hope my audition went well I thought to myself.

[2 weeks later]

I guess I didn't make it. Oh well, at least that was a good experience. And then suddenly, ringgggg

Phone Call:   S=Song Yuqi    A=Agent
(S)Hello?
(A)Hello, is this Song Yuqi?
(S)Yes, who is this?
(A)This is Ryan Wong, a local scout for the Cube Entertainment company in Seoul, Korea.
(S) Hello Ryan, so is this an audition for the Cube Entertainment company? I am a little confused.(A)So after you auditioned 2 weeks ago, we decided that you might fit our next-and-coming group, (G)I-dle. We would like to meet you to talk about future scheduling, contracts, and everything you need to know to join our group.
(S)That's great! So will this be more of a presentation type conference, or a meeting?
(A)This is gonna be more of a Q&A type of meeting. Remember to Leave useful Questions inside.
(S)Ok and where are we meeting?
(A)We are meeting at the CE Business Building at room 3C on 11/7/15 at 10:30AM, is that fine with you?
(S)Yes, that is fine, thank you. I will meet you there then.
(A)Alright, see ya there! Bye!
(S)Bye

"OMG I MADE IT" I yelled. My parents came into my room and hugged me. I was excited, but also worried. I had to learn Korean to be in an K-pop group.

[At the CE Business office] (S=Song Yuqi ; A=Agent)

S: Hello, nice to meet you! shakes hands
A: Hello, nice to meet you too! Please sit.
S: sits  ok thank you.
A: So we wanted to evaluate/ audition you for a second time in Korea.
S: Oh really? Cool.
A: Yes, so I have here today an invitation for the next audition, a map of Korea, a map of the auditioning place, and the transportation, which is all covered.
S: Ok, and all I have to do is just go?
A: Yes, any questions?
S: No
A: Alright, you are all set, thanks for coming.
S: No problem. Thanks for the invitation.

Ok I thought to myself, I have a lot of resources to learn Korean, yet not a lot of time. Luckily, this audition was for joining the company, not a group. I went home, and reviewed the scheduling, requirements, and other information. I tell my parents that I will be leaving for Korea to get my career started. They don't want me to leave, but they give in after I tell them that this is what I wanted to do when I grew up. I know it was gonna be hard. I had no one to turn to when I went to Korea. I had no knowledge of the language and no friends. A fresh new start to life.

[2 years later] August 23, 2017

"We are going to reveal that you will be part of the upcoming girl group, (G)I-dle. The group is newly formed." says the manager. I am shocked. I am finally in a group! I have been taught so much since I signed my first contract with Cube Entertainment. I learned Korean, made some new friends, and I learned how to dance and sing better. Practice was hard and tiring, but it was all for today. The day I was about to be an idol. I knew the members of (G)I-dle, as they were my friends. I am so excited to be in my first ever song and MV.
