I gingerly walked down the staircase, I wistfully looking at all the framed pictures on the walls. They were moving around in their frames, some even talking to each. It was mesmerising to watch. Suddenly the staircase began to move and I lost my balance and fell on... Something soft??

"Ow!" I heard a voice screech below me.

When I opened my eyes, my nose was a few inches
away from a boy. I felt my cheeks beginning to get hot. I quickly scurried off him and helped him to his feet.

"You could have killed me you know, if you weren't skinny!" Draco said sarcastically as he dusted his cloak off drastically.

I rolled my eyes at him and began walking down some more stairs to the Slytherin Common Room in the dungeons, Draco beside me.

As we walked through the eerie hallway. We passed a door. A rather odd one. It was a humongous ebony door and it was slightly open. I halted in the middle of the hallway.

"Draco... Check this out!" I whisper-shouted and motioned Draco to come see. I was already by the door and began to dwindle the door open.

"Lila, We can't go in there!" he said. I could see the fear in his eyes.

I decided to leave him and creep into the room. It was vast and empty except for a single large, golden-grey mirror amid of the room. Mortified, I approached it and looked into it. Grandma....? I muttered under my breath.

In the mirror I saw me and Grandmother. I was holding a shimmering blue trophy and everyone was cheering for me including my grandother. Ecstasy filled my body and an elegant smile spread across my face. I looked above the mirror and saw some writing engraved onto it. "Erised... ?"
The rest of the writing was covered in dust and difficult to read. My thoughts were quickly interrupted by a creak from the door. I dove behind a wall as the figure entered the room and approached the mirror.

"Draco, you scared me, don't do that!"

He's attention was on the mirror.

"What is this?"

"It's some mirror of Erised. Quick look inside, you can see my grandma!"

He maliciously looked inside and began to grin.

"Well? Do you see her?"

"Ha, I turned potter into a toad!" he snickered.

"Huh?" I looked into the mirror. I don't see Harry as a toad!

"The mirror can tell the future"

"How can it, my grandmother is dead!" I smiled crookedly as hot tears began to well in my eyes. I tried my best to blink them away. I don't want Draco to see me cry.

At the corner of my eyes, I could see him staring at me. When it seemed as if he wanted to say something, we suddenly heard footsteps not so far away.

We quitely headed out the door and eluded to the Slytherin Common Room. Without uttering a word to each other, we went to our own dormitories.

It was Halloween today. The entire school was filled with Halloween-related decorations. Fred and George were trotting around the school, finding innocent students to fool. I decided to join them, together we pranked people, scare people and upset a few people too and outpoured in mirth every second or two. It was the most fun I had since we arrived here.

That evening for dinner, we were served all sorts of candy. Pies, candy canes, donuts, cakes, apples with bat candy, all the candy you can imagine. It was magnificent. Pumpkins carved with supposedly scary faces emited above us.
