1978-October-Lindsey

The Rumours tour is in full swing. My beautiful wife is twenty-eight years old and our sweet little baby is turning three. She's potty trained and sleeping in her own big girl bed. If Stevie leaves clothing out for her she'll put them on and the phrase 'I do it.' Is very popular in our house now. Stevie is still strung out on cocaine and as much as I hate it and I've told her so countless times it always ends up in an argument, so I've pretty much dropped it at this point.

Today I turn 28, and what better way to celebrate it is by performing. We're in San Diego tonight, which is good. It's close to our home. Robin has Sara and Stevie and I are going to spend some much needed time alone in a hotel. Then we're off for two weeks before going to Europe. We'll be getting through New Zealand, Australia, and Japan and then flying back for Christmas. In the new year, we start working on Album number three.

The concert goes by extremely quickly and before long, Stevie is screaming her way through Rhiannon. Everything is muscle memory at this point. Songbird isn't over quick enough and soon we're in an elevator going up to our suite. We haven't properly done anything remotely sexual since we moved into our house, and that first steamy elevator kiss has me at full mast almost immediately.

The clothes come off and we collapse in the bed. Moan after moan, and embarrassingly quickly I'm releasing inside of her. It goes as simple as saying that round one is just fucking but round two was making love as if all the drama of Rumours was put passed us.

"Happy Birthday Linds," Stevie says sleepily.

"Thank you for making it the best birthday ever," I say into her hair.

"Love you." She mumbles

"Love you too Angel." I smile and close my eyes.

Arriving home, our toddler comes running towards us arms flying.

"Hey, sweet girl," Stevie says lifting the child into her arms.

"Momma missed you." Sara coos.

"Oh, I missed you too sweet girl." Stevie smiles squeezing her tightly.

Stevie is a great mother, and I am so glad she didn't listen to my stupid remarks when she first told of her pregnancy. Robin and I, however, are still not on good terms and it's been three years.

"Thank you, Robin, how was she?" Stevie asks.

"She was a gem like always. Kim is pretty upset though, he doesn't like me going on tour with you. Says it's not fair I spend all my time with you. I probably won't go these last two months with you guys." Robin sighs.

"Good, you should go spend time with him. What's it been four years now and you've seen him like what a full year." I spit.

"Lindsey." Stevie hisses.

"He's right, Stevie." Robin exhales.

"No, he's not. We pay you. You're a nanny, my assistant, and a vocal coach." Stevie says defensively.

"And I'll still be all that. I just want to take a few months off. I've gotta go. She hasn't eaten lunch yet." Robin hugs Stevie and leaves.

"I'm glad. She's been nothing but constant in our life since she moved here." I say taking Sara from her.

"Lindsey, she's my best friend," Stevie says going into the kitchen.
