CH. 16

[SEOKJIN'S HOUSE]

Haru entered into her room after the small fight with Jin that had left her feeling guilty. She sat down on the edge of the bed, thinking over the words that Jin had said.

SEOKJIN: "Then don't love me. I don't need you to love me."

She let out a heavy sighed, feeling guilty yet at the same time, questioning herself to why she is feeling this way. She stood up from sitting.

HARU: "He hurt me so many times, so why do I need to feel guilty for?"

She turned towards her desk and her eyes landed on the paper-size orange envelope that Taehyung had given her earlier.

She hasn't open it because she's afraid she might not be able to hide her expression from whatever that is inside.

Walking over, she picked up the sealed envelope and decided to open it. Her heart was pounding nervously as she fully opened the envelope and digs her hand inside.

She took out almost a handful of documents and the first thing that got her surprise was the name on the top of the first paper.

S.J Hospital.

As she moved downward, it got her even more surprised to know that these are her mother's medical bills.

These bills were way back when her mother started the treatment. She remembered that she paid for the first two bills and then from then on, someone has been paying the bills for her.

It's been almost two years and that person is still a mystery.

All of these are receipts, confirming that her mother's medical bills were paid.

For a second there, her heart pounded thinking to herself that the person might have been Taehyung. But then when her eyes landed on the signature, she pushed that thought aside.

She remembered Taehyung's signature quite well from all the contract her father and he had signed and this is definitely not his.

But then who? Why did Taehyung have these documents?

In the mist of thoughts, she recalled Taehyung's words that he had said before giving her the envelope.

TAEHYUNG: "I was planning to give it to you for your wedding gift, but I think it's best to give it to you now."

Wedding gifts?

Though she is not so sure, something did click in her mind.

It was after 10pm when Haru came out from her room. She had overheard Sandeul talking to Nanny June while they're preparing dinner that Jin will have to go back to the hospital to clear up some medical issues.

So after hearing the car driving out of the driveway, Haru waited another 30 minutes or so before coming out. Just to make sure Nanny June are done with the chores in Jin's room.

She quickly went up stairs with a pounding heart and opened the door to Jin's room.

Once she is in, she gently closed the door behind her and headed straight over to the only desk that was in the room.

She went through the papers on the desk to see if there's any with his signature on it but it doesn't seem so.

She opened the drawers and searched through it carefully until the last bottom drawer on the right. Opening it, she was surprised to see so many miscellaneous things crumpled up inside the drawer.

He wasn't a clean freak like she thought he is after all.

She took a stack of random things out onto the desk and while almost cleaning up the drawer, she spotted a paper that has his signature on it.
