CH. 11

[S.J. HOSPITAL]

AVA: "You're all good to go."

She said after putting on the last bandages on Taehyung's chest. Taehyung was sitting on the hospital bed, shirtless, so that Ava can treat his wound.

She turned around, cleaning up the area while Taehyung put back on his shirt.

AVA: "I don't want to know what you have been through. But I want to tell you that you need to be more careful. Wounds like these are easy to cause but takes a long time to heal. No matter what, you'll have to restrain yourself for the next couple of months."

Taehyung did not respond and just continued buttoning up his shirt. The phone in the room started ringing and Ava walked over to answer it.

AVA: "Doctor Ava speaking."

Her expression softens and she has gone quiet. Taehyung's eyes shifted over to her before she let out a soft reply.

AVA: "Okay, thank you."

She puts the phone back and then looked over to Taehyung.

AVA: "I'm sorry, Mr. Kim Taehyung."

He already prepared himself for the news so it didn't shook him that much, but still... deep inside, he did have a little hope.

Running impatiently through the hospital hall and turning the corner to where she was told, Jiyoung slow down her pace when she faced the officers, who was standing out in the hall.

They all lowered their heads when she made eye contact with them. The head chief stepped out from the room and his eyes met Jiyoung's.

He stepped aside as if telling her to go in.

The atmosphere has already given her hints of what's to come. She took steps towards the room and as soon as she took the first step in, her heart sank in pain at what she was seeing.

Bogum was lying on the hospital bed with his eyes close and his face was pale, without any signs of movement.

She dragged her feet over with her trembling hands and lips as she softly called out her brother's name.

JIYOUNG: "Bogum..."

His name is all that came out. Her throat was clogged and tears form in her eyes as she cupped the face of her brother, who was sleeping peacefully in front of her.

She tried to suck back in her tears so that her vision will be clear for her to remember every part of his face.

The officers standing outside were wiping off their tears for the loss of one of their best leader.

The Head Chief stood there quietly, looking down while holding his hat against his chest.

She lowered herself to rest her head against his cold chest and closed her eyes, hoping to hear his heart beat again.

Her heart ached painfully at every silent second that pass by without hearing a sound from him. Tears fall continuously from her eyes and onto the white blanket that was covering his cold body.

Her body trembled at the edge of breaking down as she continued to rest in her brother's embrace for the last time in her life.

After today... she'll be all alone.
