Mrs Robins walked through the door after what felt like years of Rubee waiting.
"Finally Rubee mumbled, putting her phone back in her purse and greeting them at the door "Hello, I'm Rubee" She smiled, extending her hand. Mrs Robisn shook it firmly and ushered Fiona to introduce herself.
"I'm Fiona" The teenager said. She has brown hair with blue ends that matched her eyes. "Nice to meet you" Rubee smiled.
"I'm so sorry for not being here to let you in" Mrs Robins apologized sincerely as she went to the kitchen to put away the groceries.
Rubee followed, helping her by putting things in the pantry. "Oh it's not a problem. Caleb... He let me in" She paused after his name, feeling a lump in her throat.
"Ugh, I'm sorry" Fiona said.
Me too, Rubee thought. Instead, she smiled a bit "It's alright. I've known him for a while"
"Really?" Mrs Robins asked.
He never told his family about me?
"Yeah we, um.. We just went to school together that's all" Rubee wished that was all the history they had.
But just because you wish for something doesn't mean it'll come true.
