I could feel myself sweating. All I remembered was dizzying pain and nausea, and then a blackness that almost didn't feel like sleep. I had gone through the longest, scariest night terror I had ever had, and I almost didn't feel like I was going to wake up because I had thought I'd been walking through hell.
The sweat dripping down my nose had awakened me, and my eyes burned as they opened to a huge light in the face. I could just barely make out the shapes of hooded figures at a long podium sitting in front of me. Was... I in a COURT SESSION? For the CULT? I
immediately tried to harden my face, biting back the fear rattling my nerves. It was then, that I knew, that I was going to die.
But I was sure as hell going to survive as long as I could.
I knew now that my muscles were awake that I was kneeled, tied by my hands and feet behind my back. I felt a wave of anger pulsate through me; how dare they force me to kneel in front of them? Something told me to rip through these chains and kill them; but something told me to comply. I knew if I didn't I'd be dead in minutes.
"Mr. Dalix..." one of the men says in a snake-like tone. If this fucker was trying to be scary, he was doing a terrible job at it. "Would you, the defendant, like to... Explain yourself, to the audience behind you...?"
I feel more beads of sweat drip down my mouth. I tasted melted copper on my lips. A nosebleed from the high drug dosage or a confrontation? I wasn't sure.
"Butbutbut, Mr. Dalix... We have a... Bargain for you. You won't be able to resist- we'll KILL, the girl! Isn't that exciting? We will brutally murder for information. Would you like that?"
Sick fuck. Suddenly I remembered Salem. The Prophecy. Everything. Somehow just the thought of her brought it all back to my mind. I spat on the ground in a fit of fury. "I ain't telling you shit."
Another one, just as insane as the other, speaks. "Oh but you have to, don't you? You have to and you know it."
I felt tears spring to my eyes and a headache start to burn my temples as red spots proceeded to line my vision. I was bewildered and frustrated. Yes, yes I did know I had to tell them. They would tell me they'd let us both go if I told them, but a I'm not stupid, I'd been through this shit before.
"What if we bring her here hm? Maybe watching her be tortured to death might-"
"WAIT WAIT WAIT!" I yell out, hating myself for doing this. To her and to me.
I watch them all perk up and lean in, like a predator waiting to pounce on his kill. I groaned out, telling myself all the consequences before stuttering out, "I'll-I'll tell you. Just... Please..." I say, out of breath.
"Glorious! Go on?" the one who had spoke first says.
"It... It all started... At fucking highschool..."
