INTERVIEW WITH STORMYSKIESM
Hi! Thanks for Stopping by!
Hi :)
So tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Mihaela - a 20-year-old university student from Bulgaria. I like spending my time with my closest friends, listening to K-pop and watching Korean dramas at home. I also like studying other languages - I know English, I'm fairly good at German, and I'm currently learning Korean and Japanese.
Cool, best of luck with that! Thanks for sharing! Let's get started with the questions :
1 – When and how did you fall in love with writing ?
It was probably when I was in the ninth grade. I had this pretty good idea about a fantasy book and started to write it, because I didn't want it to remain in my head and eventually be forgotten. I had no particular skill (which I see every time I look at my notes from five years ago :D), but that wasn't the most important thing for me at the time. I liked how I could temporarily escape from life by transporting myself to my little fantasy world, where I could be anyone I wanted and do everything I couldn't in real life.
2 – What's your favorite work to date ?
It's "40 Days".
3 – What's it about ?
It's the story of Lucy, an awkward and shy girl, who is ready to sacrifice anything and everything so that her family, her best friend and boyfriend can live well and be happy. One day, after she finds out that the last two - Sarah and James - have been dating behind her back, she gets in an accident that kills her. But her Guardian angel gives her forty days to make up for the lost time.
4 – Why do you like it better than your other works, if you have written other stories ?
It's my most recent work. When I compare it to my other stories, I can clearly see the mistakes I've made there, but I can also tell how much I've improved with the descriptions and character development in "40 Days". It also has an interesting plotline in my opinion, but it's up to the readers to agree or disagree with me.
5 – What inspired you to write "40 Days"?
I'm experimenting with each story I write, combining different things I am interested in at the time, so I don't think I had a particular inspiration. But just before I started writing "40 Days", I stumbled upon this book, the author of which says that a person can achieve anything he/she wants just by wishing it. So I guess that's where the idea about the wishes came.
6 – Got to to love wishing, right ;-) Is it original or a fanfiction?
It's original.
7 – Great storyline, anyway! Which character d'you love most? Why?
I love Lucy the most. She's a lot like me. I always wish that I could become stronger and stand up for myself more, just like she does in the story.
8 – Which character did you like writing least? Why?
Sarah's personality is rather complex, so I find it difficult to write about her and think up future scenes with her.
9 – Are any of your characters inspired by real people around you?
A lot of them are. For example, Patrick and Elizabeth are my friends from University, and I based Hae Won on my best friend, who always supports me and reads my stories.
10 – If there was one thing and one person you could bring to life from your book, who and which would it be?
I don't really know about a thing, but I would definitely bring Blake to life. He has many traits that I respect, like loyalty and kindness, although he hides them most of the time.
Sounds intriguing! Thanks for your time!
Thank you for the opportunity!
