Chapter 15

" Agent Davis, could you go get Captain Rogers for us?" Howard asked Kenzie who was looking over some documents.

"Alright, where would he be?" she said closing the folder the documents were in and putting it away.

"Down the hall somewhere." Emmaline said not looking away from where she was helping Howard with some of his tech. With that little too from Emmaline, Kenzie made her way down the hall. As she passed a doorway she looked passed the metal shelves glance through them in search of Steve. At the end of the hall was the last set of metal shelves, Kenzie looked into the small opening and her heart sank to the floor at what she saw. Steve was kissing another woman!

"Captain," she says, causing them to separate.

"Kenzie!"

"We're ready for you, if you're not otherwise occupied." Kenzie says with her hands on her hips as she quickly walks away.

"Agent Davis, wait." Steve lunged to catch up with her.

"Looks like finding a partner wasn't that hard, after all."

"Kenzie, that's not what you thought it was."

"I don't think anything, Captain, not one thing. You always wanted to be a soldier and now you are. Just like all the rest." Kenzie said still walking at the same pace, ignoring Steve's struggle to keep up.

"Well, what about you and Stark? How do I know you two haven't been… fondue-ing?" Steve said as Kenzie stopped in front of an iron door and turned to look at him.

"You still don't know a damn thing about women."

After Kenzie took Steve to Howard, she took Emmaline aside and told her what she had come across.

"You can't be serious? Steve kissed another woman!?" Emmaline said a little louder than she should have cause Kenzie to shush her.

"I know. My heart felt like it was ripped out of my chest." Kenzie said visibly angry,  tears threatening to fall.

"Don't worry, Kenz, He'll know he made a mistake, trust me." Emmaline said hugging her best friend.

"Are you finished yet, Mr. Stark?" Emmaline asked briskly walked up to Steve and Howard, irritation written all over her face.

" I'm sure the Captain has unfinished business." venom laced each word as she spoke. Steve turned to her ignoring the hits.

" What do you think?" He asked with a smile. Emmaline looked at the shield, picked up a pistol off the table next to her and fired three times at the shield that Steve was taking cover behind. Once satisfied with her work she said, "Yes, I think it works." And just like that she walked out giving Steve a look that could kill.
