•°•he was beautiful in every possible way. I couldn't help but admire the way his eyes squinted when he smiled, the way he bit into his food. it was all mesmerising for some reasons. and to top all that, he looked happy. it was as if the girl he love loved was right next to him instead of another man.
that was when it hit me. I wasn't the girl he loved. silly, I know. but at that moment, I felt some sort of connection with him. and I shouldn't have, because in that instance, I was ready to do whatever it took to keep him happy. I wasn't ready for that.
my phone buzzed in my pocket. it was my mom. i looked up to find him staring at me. his eyes caught me off guard. he was perfect, and I didn't like the way I was started to feel for him. he was a stranger after all.
"you're not gonna take that?" he asked, pointing towards my phone.
"its my mom," I replied, brushing aside the butterflies in my stomach. "I should probably go. thank you for the food."
I was quickly on my feet.
"oh, yeah, sure," he said with a gentle frown. "sorry I held you for some time."
"don't worry about it, I had a great time."
with that said, I walked out of the place. I looked through the window one last time to see him looking down on his phone. the smiled from earlier were replaced by a more bored and hurt expression. I guessed that he truly felt. he was hurt. and that pained me more that it should have.
