In Threlkeld, death is a thriving trade. Assassins known as Hunters are hired to track down and dispatch of their marks without guilt or mercy, and Lorca is one of them.
When a great tragedy befalls her at the hands of a man known only as Void, Lorc...

Lorca laid in her small, soft bed in the middle of the night. The light of day had succumbed to the darkness of the night and the crescent moon towered over Threlkeld, the giant mountains around reaching up to block it out but failing at the task. Lorca wanted to sleep, but so many thoughts ran through her mind that she felt she could never rest.
There were vague memories of her childhood, most of them centring around her father. She also thought about the victims she'd killed as a result of her occupation, but the memories that really took over her thoughts were those of what had happened the past two days.
James' kidnapping, his death, Void, The Legion of Hunters and all the things she still didn't know about it. She found that it was a lot to take in. But she didn't have much more time to ponder the events of the eventful days that preceded the next one, because she heard a yell from outside.
It wasn't a yell of pain, but of terror, and the terrified scream sounded a lot like the scream that James made as he was kidnapped, except that this scream was in a lower pitch.
She jumped out of her comfortable bed, and as she dressed in her black leather jacket supplied by The Legion of Hunters and her dull, black pants a familiar face popped up in the window. She had moved the closet door that she had put in front of the window the night before.
She felt safer around here now and it was just plain inconvenient. Of course, she still locked the doors and put the cupboard in front, and she closed the window.
The face that appeared in the window was that of Ellie's, and she looked extremely worried, her large eyes only increasing the sense of worry on her face. She didn't try to break in, which was the thought in the back of Lorca's mind, so Lorca felt fairly safe.
She quickly put on her large, red boots which were very thick, but also extremely light. It was probably the most hunter-like piece of her attire, and the fact that it was supplied directly from The Legion of Hunter's armoury only perpetuated the sense of similarity to hunter attire.
She grabbed the daggers containing the carved lightning symbol off of her nightstand table and opened the small window. She climbed it with great speed, and met Ellie a little further to the right, directly in front of another alley surrounded by deserted buildings.
On her left was a dirty, brick structure and closely on her right was the Legions' warehouse. Ellie was standing with her back against the warehouse wall and put a finger to her mouth as Lorca neared.
The smell of the deserted alley was revolting, the horrid smell consisting of multiple burned out cigarettes and vomit, and topping it all off with a distinct smell of garbage. Ellie whispered to Lorca in as hushed of a voice as possible:
"It's Void. He's here."
It seemed like Ellie could tell exactly how Lorca was going to act because as Lorca started into a rage-fueled run, Ellie instinctively grabbed her strong arm. Lorca tried to rip her arm away, but Ellie kept her firm grip.
