She sat in her bed, completely stunned. It didn't make any sense. Why would Void want her to join him?
"But that... It doesn't make sense! Why would he expect me to join him after he killed my brother?" she exclaimed.
"That is to be seen, Lorca, but I think he's been seeking you for a while. The times I have been able to speak to him in the past, he has mentioned "the white-haired hunter" every time. You seem like the most probable hunter."
"There could be other hunters with white hair, right? I'm not the only one it could be!" she said. Lorca began thinking about it, trying to search her mind for any reason she couldn't be who Void was looking for, but all the evidence pointed towards the uncomfortable fact that it was her.
"He did mention that he was an acquaintance of my father. Could that have something to do with it?"Forrond nodded thoughtfully, but still looked towards the ground. Then he looked up at Lorca like he had just thought of a great idea.
"Come!" he said, rushing out of the room, his muscular feet striding with great speed.
Lorca didn't ask questions because Forrond seemed in a great hurry. He ran through the corridor with agile speed for his age and appeared outside, the doors opening quickly because of his powerful push.
"The walls, over there. That's where we're heading." Master Forrond said, pointing at the gigantic city walls that encased Threlkeld on the northern side. The west, east and south side of Threlkeld were encased by mountains who reached far over the clouds, towering over the city.
"Why are we going there? It will take ages!"
"Not if we jump from building to building." he turned his head towards her, "You shall come with me. You are under The Legion of Hunters and I am your master." he said in a strict tone, but he didn't seem angry about it.
"But it's barely evening! We're gonna be seen if we jump on the buildings!"
"Not if we use a presence stone," Forrond replied, pulling up a large, green stone.
"What? How is that going to help us, I've been told that they only infuse weapons!" Ellie complained.
"Not this one, this is not an elemental stone, Ellie. It's a Great Stone. I shall teach you about this later, now come!"
He handed her a pointed dagger, which was much larger than the ones she was used to. "Stab it," he said, pulling out another pointed dagger for his own use.
Ellie complied with his instructions, and as she put the dagger in a small strap on her belt, she noticed that a green glow had appeared around Forrond. But as he cut the stone as well, the glow faded and he instead looked normal again, without the green glow.
"Come on, onto the roof now," Forrond said as he climbed the metal ladder to the dirty, brick roof beside the warehouse. Lorca followed, and as they arrived at the disgusting rooftop, both of them began in a quick sprint.
