Jo's POV
Christmas 2012

"Merry Christmas!" I say as Dad and Avril walk in, Dad carrying a couple gifts in as Avril comes in the kitchen with a cake.

"Desserts are going in the fridge. We're still waiting on Eve and Daniel to get here." I say and she puts it in the fridge as I finish the Cobb Salad and set it aside.

Soon Daniel and Eve get here with their daughters, Ella and Mira.

Soon we are all eating and Ryan is getting jittery as we all finish up.

Soon Dad is handing gifts to everyone and I get a new dress, phone cases galore, and a pair of sneakers.

After all the gifts are handed out, Ryan clears his throat.

He comes over to me and gets on one knee. I cover my mouth in shock as he pulls out a ring box.

"Josephine Marissa Kroeger, since that July night when you first kissed me, I knew I wanted you to stay in my life forever. I want to make you happy for the rest of your life, just like you make me happy. Will you make me the happiest man this Christmas and marry me?" He asks as he reveals a beautiful ring with an amethyst center.

"Yes." I say as I wipe away tears and he slides the ring on my finger as he pulls me into a kiss.

After everyone looks at my ring and we all settle down, Avril stands up and clears her throat.

"I have a gift for Chad." She says as she gives Dad a small gift box and I see the look of happiness cross dads face as he pulls out a pregnancy test and a onesie.

I feel my heart start to race as all the memories come flooding back. I try to stay calm as Ryan holds my hand as everyone congratulates Dad and Avril.

I let Ryan go to congratulate them as I go to get desserts out.

Ryan's POV

As Jo heads into the kitchen to get desserts ready, I go to Chad. I know she's struggling with the memories of our two losses.

"Hey, congrats." I say and he nods as Avril shows off her belly.

"Where's Jo at?" He asks and I nod my head to the kitchen.

"She's trying not to take the spotlight off Avril, but she's struggling with the losses." I say and Chad nods.

"Maybe Av can go talk to her?" Chad says and I shrug.

Jo's POV

As I'm cutting up the cakes and getting the cupcakes out, Avril comes into the kitchen.

"So, you're so bitter you won't even tell me congratulations?" She says and I put the butter knife down and look at her.

"I had two losses back to back basically within a month. I'm coping the best I can. You don't have to come in here and act all high and mighty just because you're pregnant and rub salt in my open wounds even more. Congratulations. I'm happy for Dad and You, but don't rub your fertility in my face." I say as I finish the cupcakes and she leaves.

Ryan comes in a few minutes later and pulls me into a hug.

"It's okay. I heard everything baby and you said it more respectfully than I would have. It's okay." He says and I nod as we take the cakes and cupcakes out to the dining area.

Everyone takes a bit of sweets and I see Avril have a salty look on her face as Dad comes over to me.

"Can we talk for a second?" He asks and I nod going into the kitchen.

"What did you say to Avril?" He asks and I feel tears resurface.

"Told her that I'm happy for you guys but not to rub her fertility in my face. She was acting like she was high and Mighty all because she was pregnant. I left the room to get the desserts ready and to collect myself and calm my thoughts down." I say and he hugs me.

"I know it's hard to be happy for someone you're close to when you can't have that yourself. I'll tell Avril to tone it down. She honestly shouldn't have told me tonight anyways as I knew this would upset you." Dad says as I wipe away tears.

We both go back out to the dining area and I get a cupcake and a blueberry turnover and sit down next to Ryan.

Soon everyone leaves for their homes and Ryan takes me upstairs and he pulls me into a deep kiss.

"I love you. Even if we can't have a baby together, I won't ever leave you." Ryan says as he kisses me and picks me up, taking me to the bed.

"I love you too." I say as Ryan lifts my shirt over my head and he rolls me over on top of him as we kiss deeply.

He unclips my bra as he sits up and takes his shirt off and I touch his chest as he unbuttons my pants and rolls me over.

He takes my pants off and his pants are next as we grind against each other.

"God you're so beautiful. I can't wait to make you my wife and do this to you every night." He says as he takes my panties and his boxers off and he slides into me.
