Hello everyone! Hope your week started alright.
The next day after waking up, Haze came and told me we have arrived in Koro Island. The whole time he avoided my gaze and didn't talk to me. I didn't say anything to him either. Shaking the thoughts away from my head and focusing on the task at hand. Currently packing all my essential in the fabric bag that includes the book about the Kraken and my lucky pendant. Feeling the cold hard metal around my collar bone gave me a sense of reality and truth.
Saying my goodbye to the crew while they cheered me on, taking a deep breath I hopped off the Reaper which was currently being hidden behind a giant water rock. Rowing the small rescue boat to the shore I began singing an old pirate song. 'Row, Row, Row the Boat, hear me, hear me, hear me, a mighty pirate on the hunt to find treasure on the might'.
I kept repeating the song as I rowed the boat to the shore. I was surprised that Haze didn't want to come along like usual this time but I supposed currently we need some time apart. I personally wanted him to come but I also respect his own wishes.
I hope the Crystals don't ask for something irreplaceable for me to sacrifice this time. I have been avoiding thinking about it due to me getting shivers every single time. Sighing I carried the bag over my shoulder and hopped off the boat. Looking at the island more closely it was very different from the legends. It was covered with long trees, birds and animals I haven't ever seen before. I continued to walk through forests path to the cave that was rumored to house the Crystal and the Kraken. As I proceeded to walk my head began to race and my throat became dry. How could feel my heart racing when I didn't have one.
Stopping suddenly I place my pam slowly, inching away, shaking on my skull that's when I felt it. My pounding heart. Utter shock and panic shot through my body, how is this possible?! I tried to calm myself down by taking long gasps of wind but I couldn't. Its as if I forgot how to breathe. My breathing we ragged and choppy. I need to compose myself but once again I failed. Chocking sounds came from my throat that's when I began to feel dizzy and black spots appeared in my vision. I knew this feeling all too well I was about to faint and that was the last thought that ran through my brain and everything became dark as throbbing pain could be felt from the right side of my cranium.
Waking up to in unimaginable pain running through my head that I could hear ringing through my ears. Touching the side of my head I felt a crack, confusion, and pain ran once again within my body. And I yelled "Bloody hell!"
'Ush child' I heard a serene voice say, turning around quickly the dizzying feeling and black spots came back. But through them, I could see a purple glowing figure looking right at me.
"You should rest child," it told me in a soft voice once again. Finally calming down while taking a deep breath I asked: "Are you the fourth sister of the Oceanic crystal?"
She gave me a small smile and replied "Yes, I am. But don't worry rest first and we can talk later that includes doing your trial."
I looked at her weirdly but listen to her advice and laid once again on the cool, glowing grass. I was tired to notice this before but now that I am paying attention I knew that we were in a cave and it was night time due to the stars shining through the small holes on the ceiling. Closing my eyes and placing the cloth on top of them. I relaxed to the darkness.
Feeling a something warm running through my body. I jolted up and saw the purple glowing being, touching my head which made me flinch. I was expecting pain from her touch but only warmth and comfort came. Noticing that I didn't feel any discomfort I touched my head to find the crack gone. I looked at her in utter disbelief, did she heal me? Do the sisters possess such powers? I only thought that they alone hold despair, pain, and distraction, but maybe I was wrong. Once again she gave me a small smile and looked to the night sky.
"How long have I been sleeping?" I asked with a hoarse voice filled with tiredness and strain.
"Not long child, only a day," she replied while still looking at the sky. I wondered what she was looking at so I followed her gaze. It was a beautiful night. Being in this mysterious cave that was filled with glowing grass, twinkling fireflies that were dancing with the wind and a mysterious lake that glowed with some type of stones. Taking a deep breath through my nose I smelled the saltiness of the air, so I could tell that the lake was filled with saltwater or we are close to the shore.
I looked at her and asked while confusion laced my voice "Why did you heal me and why are you being nice?"
She got up from her position and walked to the lake and placed her hand in the luminescent water and began to play with it. She almost looked like a child. She sighed which took me by surprise and said in a whisper "Because I am lonely." Turning around and looking at me with a hint of emotion that ran through her deep violet eyes that looked like sadness and guilt.
"I have been on this island for many years and I miss my sisters" she continued but this time with a louder voice. Why would she feel guilty about something, this is also the second time that one of the sisters showed kindness and compassion to me. A small smirk began to make its way to my mouth and I said: "I guess even you guys get lonely, who would have thought."
At that comments her facial features soften but her eyes went serious and said "Well you have rested so we should get this going, aye?
"Aye!" I replied with confidence in my voice and a smirk on my mouth.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please keep in mind they have been edited but by me personally and my grammar isn't the best in the world. I will heir an editor later once the chapters have been all published.
Finally, Rowan met the last sister.
What do you think of the sisters attitude?
What do you think the sacrifice will be this time?
Any guesses on what color she is ;)?
Any advice on how to improve the story is greatly appreciated.
