I stared at the deep, Southern night.
My long, blonde hair was down my back; my blue eyes gleamed in the darkness. My dreams of loving a man dwindled each year I was near the Ports.
The ships were all moored; the bow and stern of the ships were full of sailors. They drank, and sang, and slept with townswomen; they slumbered in their cabins.
And, for me, that was a huge adventure...
